South Korea is a country where LGBTQ+ rights are still largely invisible in the legal system. Same-sex marriage isn't recognized. There's no comprehensive anti-discrimination law that explicitly protects sexual orientation. And socially, the pressure to conform is immense.
So when people casually say, "Why don't they just come out?" or dismiss the fear as overblown, it shows they don't understand the real weight of that decision in a country where silence is still the price of survival for most LGBTQ+ Koreans.
It's not about being afraid of a few mean comments. It's about risking your entire life's work, your relationships, and your safety.
Let me start by saying that everything Im sharing comes from spending many years on this site, observing patterns across multiple accounts, and reading user reports. Im not the dev, mod, or admin but Ive had experience with systems which is why I can answer your “whys” and “what ifs”
THIS IS THE SITUATION
Jan19 - Bto closes
⠀⠀⠀*start of traffic surge to Mgo
⠀⠀⠀*some features have slowed down a bit
Jan24 - Mgo goes down
⠀⠀⠀*caused by backend updates or overloaded servers
Jan26 - Mgo comes back up
⠀⠀⠀*site is online again but very buggy: missing lists, random logouts, slow pages, no notifications, etc
⠀⠀⠀*this is when the system started gradually restoring lists
WHY IS THE SITE SO BUGGY
- Mgo uses separate parts for different things. One to SAVE your manga data (aka database/the memory), another one to DISPLAY your saved Manga data (aka UI/what you see), and another one for your browser/session data (aka cookies, login state, etc/this also connects the database and ui). When everything is working properly, these three systems stay in sync (eg. when you save a manga, it will show up in your list right away)
The system will communicate with Database, like hey this is the user that logged in go tell UI the things they should display. So Database will tell UI, like hey based on what's given to me, these are the saved data that belongs to this user, these are what you should display. HOWEVER, because of the gradual restoring of lists (which puts a heavy load on the site), the System, UI, and Database are not able to communicate properly, so theyre not in sync. This is why we’re encountering the issues
I DON'T GET NOTIFICATIONS
- since the System, UI, and Database are not in sync, Mgo cant correctly link your acc to your saved mangas so notifs dont show up/update properly. This is temporary and should be fixed when the system is in sync again
WHY DO I KEEP GETTING LOGGED OUT
- Mgo keeps track of your login/session info. But if this isnt tracked properly, Mgo may log you out randomly/repeatedly
WHERE DID MY LIST GO
- Your mangas are not deleted. Theyre still saved in the database. Mgo is gradually restoring everyone’s list from the oldest to most recent marked mangas. Follow this post to get notified about updates: https://www.mangago.me/home/mangatopic/21092806/
WILL I GET MY LIST BACK
- YES. Do note that while your list is coming back, you might notice some things are off:
⠀⠀⠀*all mangas going into Already Read even if theyre originally marked as Want to read or Reading
⠀⠀⠀*deleted mangas showing up again
⠀⠀⠀*missing notes/summaries
⠀⠀⠀*only rated mangas showing for some users
(I can explain why but it will be too long for this FAQ. idk how to explain without sounding too technical so i might also have to explain the basic terms. You can ask in the comments if youre curious)
I ADDED NEW MANGAS TO MY EMPTY LIST, WILL IT OVERWRITE THE OLD ONE
- if you ADD NEW mangas while the site is restoring, your new list will stay. And your original list will be added back on top of it once its fully restored. But if you RE-ADD EXISTING mangas, it will update the original date of when the manga was added, tags, and summaries/little notes you originally had for it. its usually best to wait and let the restoration finish before making lots of changes
WHY DO OTHERS HAVE THEIR MANGAS BACK ALREADY, WHILE MINE IS STILL MISSING
- think of this like we're reading through a giant BOOK of everyone’s manga list, arranged by the exact time each manga was added (aka timestamps). Each timestamp is like a page in the book, and we read them from the oldest timestamps to the newest. Right now, we are reading timestamps from Feb 2022 (as of writing this post), so any timestamp dated later than Feb 2022 wont appear YET
If your lists are still completely EMPTY, there are 2 possible reasons:
One is that its about “activity”, not account age. So even if you joined in 2016, but you didnt add any manga until 2023, your list wont appear until the system reaches the timestamps for 2023. The second reason is, since the system is very busy right now, it sometimes hits a blurry page and has to skip to keep moving. This doesnt mean your data is gone. It just means the system needs to go back for a second run once the "main reading" is done
HOW SOON WILL THEY COMEBACK / WHEN IS THE RESTORATION EXPECTED TO FINISH
- how soon your lists fully comes back depends on how far along we are in the “book” and how many timestamps we still need to read. If yours already started to appear again then thats a good sign. it means your account is already in the queue and the rest should continue to come back (gradually, not all at once)
If theres another run, expect anywhere from a few extra hours to about one extra day. A full second pass could push it to Feb 4–5, but a partial cleanup run would likely finish around Feb 2–3.

IMPORTANT: WHEN TO CONTACT SUPPORT
- PLEASE WAIT. Do not email the devs yet. The system needs to make several runs to load everyone's data correctly. Most of the current issues should fix themselves after the full restoration process is done. Give it at least 2 weeks from now.
If after everything finishes and youre still seeing clear errors in your marked mangas, report them to [email protected]
If possible, keep a small log of your observations and what you did, such as:
⠀⠀⠀*whether you re-added, edited, or deleted mangas during restoration
⠀⠀⠀*any repeated issues (random logouts, missing notifs, errors, etc.)
⠀⠀⠀*the other specific errors you noticed
Simply put, keep a log of WHAT YOU DID/OBSERVED and WHEN (use GMT or if in your local time, specify your timezone). The more specific your report is, the easier it is for the devs to trace what went wrong. It helps them replicate your actions so they can actually find and fix the problem
Here's an example log:
2026-01-26 9PM: I noticed my list went missing
2026-01-28 2AM: my list is restoring up to 67
2026-01-28 9PM: I added 10 mangas to my Already Read
2026-01-30 6PM: my restored mangas is stuck at 67
2026-01-31 10AM: my list count is increasing again. It restored up to 83
2026-01-31 7PM: I added 3 mangas to my Want to Read

Imma just put what I remember.
So mc and ml both regressed but mc didn't remember his past and ml got his memories intact which I think it's because ML is still imprinted on MC while MC isn't.
the flashback of memories occured when ml imprinted himself to mc then mc fainted then his memories came flooding in.
So Sejin is abused, used and neglected by his adopted family because he is a defective omega. While people who kidnapped him sold him. On his birthday Sejin was informed that he is arranged to marry someone but they didn't say who. So on the wedding day he met Ido who was rude saying comments like "thank God at least the face is easy to look at, although that isn't even that great"
But their marriage went smoothly and Sejin moved to Ido's house but Ido is cold and doesn't want Sejin to do small wife duties like waiting for him or greeting him when he comes home.
Ido has this toxic principle that if someone does something good for him they expect something in return, that's why he is cold to Sejin.
Even with Sejin's heat Ido thought that Sejin is using his heat to exploit on him and told him things like Sejin is selling his body and only cheap people will buy it something like that, and since Sejin is a defect no inhibitor work on him but Ido ordered people to inject him inhibitor so Sejin vomited through out his heat cycle.
While Haesin is using Sejin asking him to steal a document from Ido. Then gaslighting him that it's up to Sejin if he wants to do it or not but throws comments like "Haesin is the only place you can return to" and they even told him that his marriage with Ido won't last long so Haesin is the only place he can return to.
So Sejin who is deep inside just doesn't want to be abandoned stole the document. And Haesin also put the blame on tax evasion on Sejin too. Sejin was prisoned then Ido bailed him out.
Tho as time goes by Ido and Sejin actually fell in love to each other, spending time together they fell in love to each other. Ido fell cause Sejin isn't the type of person who expect anything from him. And they had cute moments together
So Sejin was getting guilty cause he stole that document and eventually he told Ido about it and Ido felt betrayed he started to become an asshole again but since he liked Sejin he never actually had the strength to divorce him so he just abused Sejin.
Then on the funeral of Ido's grandfather, Ido's brother who is looking at Sejin with dirty eyes on their wedding day, came to Ido's house. Then he saw Sejin he raped Sejin and Sejin put up a fight but then young brother said " so this is the gift Ido was talking about" then Sejin stopped fighting after hearing that comment. And the asshole even knotted on him. Sejin immediately called Mr. Kim and said "please help me"
Sejin and Mr. Kim packed all of Sejin's stuff and drove him to his officitel, Sejin had a high fever then 2days later Ido came to Sejin's place. They had a fight cause Sejin was angry cause Ido "gifted" him to the brother and he said they should divorce. Ido got mad saying Sejin doesn't have the right to decide that. Then Sejin was like what do you want then, I can let your brother rape me as long as you like (well something like that)
And Ido got mad, in which he raped Sejin and he marked and knotted Sejin. Sejin fainted then he woke up in Ido's house. He was just lifeless after that. Ido then never appeared to him and a bodyguard was assigned to follow him everywhere.
Ido tho at night he visits Sejin when he is sleeping then saying stuff like "Sejin what should I do" (yeah Ido was doing is I regret it ritual on Sejin every night) but Sejin has Insomia so every night he just listened to Ido.
Then days later Sejin's doctor told him he is preggo.
Sejin then can't believe it and was thinking who's child is it? since both the asshole brother and Ido knotted him.
So Sejin who felt that he has no place to go he even got pregnant out from rape. He went to Ido's study room and grab the gun that was displayed in Ido's room. He knows there is ammunition inside he put it in his chest. Then Ido came to his study and saw Sejin killed himself with a gun. His last words were "take care, Kwon Ido"

The actual gift Ido was referring to was a document about his brother who frequently sexually assault people. It's kinda a evidence cause Ido and his sister was getting the asshole behind bars.
The child Sejin was carrying is his and Ido's child.
The reason Ido agreed to married Sejin is because he wanted to steal Haesin corp.
The document Sejin gave to his father is a incomplete document and it was just basically useless, Sejin knew that and Ido found out about it that's why he kept doing "I regret it" ritual on Sejin every night
