I think Minyoung is alive, because 1) Cheol has always been an unreliable narrator and is currently tripping the fuck out, 2) we've seen how strong and capable Minyoung is physically and 3) let's be honest, Cheol definitely isn't in the state to be able to accurately hear a heartbeat or take a pulse.
I'm curious about whatever tragedy the two of them went through and bitterness that comes from what is likely a misunderstanding, or an irrational kind of hatred.
Because that face right there screams regret and hurt.
I'm also not pushing human morality onto him too much purely because being "born" as a walking disaster and never really knowing affection or human interaction until MC came along the first time clearly would lead to a completely warped sense of morality and perception.
I love that he immediately protected him - after all, he's the one person who has treated HIM like a person. The one who has shown him what life is supposed to be, and freed him from his prison.
At the same time I'm wondering if he is somehow biologically special - will he just tank the knife wound?

How is that the end? The chapter doesn't feel complete, let alone the story!
