A good point! But i also think it can be rooted from the problem of how some authors can't give a female character depth and only uses them for romance, a damnsel in distress for the male character to save and also let's not forget, to sexualize them.

I myself don't want this to have a romance because the plot is good as it is and don't find any reason to add one though it's still the author's choice! It's just weird that everytime a female character appears, the audience suddenly screams "NO ROMANCE PLS" when this is the same audience who ship the 3 boys.

That makes sense. I totally get you. But also keep in mind that there are a lot of fetishizers on this website. And for some reason, they haaaate female characters if they think she gets in the way. Which results in blatant misogyny. That's mostly where my annoyance is coming from.

And there's also the hypocrisy of not wanting romance between the straight characters (because it "ruins the plot"), but wanting romance between the male characters that throws me off. Is it romance they don't want, or is it just straight romance. And I don't think the complaints stems from wanting representation in queer relationships. I wouldn't be annoyed if that was the case. I hope I'm not going too deep into this conversation. I just overthink a lot.

nooo, you're actually being reasonable and valid! I do read few romance story (bl, gl, and straight) and the amount of hate the female characters get just from existing is throwing me off. And with how the readers are reacting here and on other social media about the introduction of this new character, i just knew it will be going to be messy if the romance is added. I agree with you as well with lots of fetishizers being EVERYWHERE. They don't care about representation, they just want female erasure atp.

I think if romance is incorporated and handled well, it won't change the story that much. It's unfortunate that a lot of authors can't do that, which leads to people just wanting female characters removed entirely.

I get what you mean as well. There are so many stories I've seen where the moment a female character shows up, people think she's automatically there for romance. Which is so odd to me, because why is the only relationship dynamic you think of romantic?

Also did nobody see her getting thrown across the floor? Like she's literally being abused and stuff, we have more things to worry about. The way that part was completely ignored just so people could talk about romance

Ill cheer when a female character is introduced, but not if they're centered around the male characters. Lara for example has a completely different storyline and her story is focused on herself and her struggles. In fact, she's my second favourite since her conflic with Kali is interesting to me. Right now, Rain is not giving us much to work with, and that's fine. She'll have more relevance in the future. BUT it's odd to me that they keep pushing the "blush kyaa shes hot" agenda...in her character debut no less. Its not a good look, and it happens all the time, so people notice the pattern and start groaning. The outcry is a bit too much for me considering she's just shown for like a chapter, but I wouldn't say that it's unjustified.
