i am very much concerned with the ch. 5 story where the character, sawaguchi, was cutting himself for numerous times as seen in the story. its a little triggering since selfharming is a sensitive topic and is something that we must take seriously. the author's purpose for this story wasnt clear. was it to spread awareness? or for entirely entertainment purposes only? either way, it seemed to me that the author took lightly of """selfharming""". depression is serious. anyone going through it is having a hard time and we cant take lightly of that. we cant be careless about this kind of content, but the author, throughout the whole story it was regarded as if there was nothing wrong about what sawaguchi was doing, like it was just a """habbit"""
not to mention, at the end of the story when they finally ended up with each other, sawaguchi was still cutting himself which means theres still something wrong!!!! and its not okay!!! something unhealthy cannot become a ""habbit"" argh author sweetie, sawaguchi needs a proper treatment periodt!!!! dont regards depression as if its something light and unproblematic and something that will be gone before you knew it. that kind of mindset will only hurt them, it wont help them
Yes, I agree. It just felt wrong to make light of it when in reality it is such serious issue...
From what I see it is a entertainment purpose which why the author took it so lightly and his lover did say smthng like he will not make him do like that anymore which maybe the author want to show ML will be the one who cure him. Make that as 'Habit' probably some jokes. You can't be serious on this manga since it's has flaws.
the point is, making a joke about these kind of topic is not tolerable especially if its for entertainment purposes. Suicide and depression is not for entertainment. And since its also a manga, it just means that anyone could literally read them, and the risk of this particular story triggering a person is very likely. I did appreciate the main character's lover saying that he wouldn't let his lover cut himself ever again, i just wish the author showed us more consideration and sensitivity to the topic. I mean, it wasnt even acknowledged that sawaguchi has some mental issues, as if there was nothing wrong with him and dying is just his personality and the author just wanna cure it with him getting a lover and thats not how it works in rl (•‿•)
Which is why I said the last sentence. And there are time you can compare it with real life but there are time that you can't compare it with real life. Why? Because this is merely a manga. Real life logic doesn't really work on here. Most of mangas are for entertainment purpose even though they have scene that more brutal than this. ╮(￣▽￣)╭ Pretty much this is not your cup of tea.
I will just say that sensei always does comedy manga, often comedy yaoi that makes light of a lot serious issues. But comedy has its own liberties with the reader when it comes to adult type mangas. I'm not making excuses just stating that comedic licence is a thing. You are not meant to take comedy serious, even if you are triggered by the jokes someone else is laughing their head of so that really is what it is.
