Funny how many people are obsessed with this manga (I'm not) and don't even remember the kiss scene between the MC which was really great. Poor authors, seriously. They put a lot of work into their stories and people consume it like fast food. I guess you also don't remember which burger you had the last time on McDonalds. I don't want to be mean, it's just ... well ...

I have to agree with you. Old Xian's fanbase is becoming more and more... well, I do not have anything nice to say. Old Xian does such an amazing job with character development and relationships, but her fans just hone in on the "sexy" parts and demand more R-rated content while ignoring everything else.

I'm a book author (not english). When I write sexy stories I'm successful. If I don't write about sex, nobody even bothers reading. 19 days is a mess. There is almost no plot. It's full of cliches and most of the time I think the author itself has no idea how to continue. But she HAS talent in potraying emotions and funny scenes. People wouldn't even bother reading it if it wasn't sexy. Which, in fact, it is. It really is. So, like you said, the fans only wait for the characters to f** each other and don't bother to remember meaningful scenes. And if you complain about it, they will laugh. Poeple laugh at me for YEARS because I'm trying (oh how stupid!) to write decent storys you can learn something from. Why even trying? When you can easily write about fuck**g which for many readers out there is the only reason to even bother open a book.

and to be honest with you. I don't think 19 days is a manga that she's being serious on. More off, she made it for fun and her amusement and would like to share it with everyone. Just like you who prefers making DECENT stories, she prefers to make her OWN story. If she suddenly became famous out of it, it's not close of being her fault. Let's be honest here, this isn't the fucking 80's where most people prefer the proper things and such.

The world is changing due to the influence of social media, rather than complaining about it like a lame ass. It's your own decision either you ride with it or not, don't rub your bitterness towards others just because people doesn't like your story. Instead learn your mistake, maybe your decent story is not as great as you see it. We artists and authors has our own specialty on genres, let us respect that shall we? For fuck sake we all are trying to catch a specific audience, there's just more who are into different things than than the other. Open your fucking mind bruh.

readers aren't looking for a class on your outlook on life and i think you might be mistaking that for what a 'decent story' is. old xian's popularity is bc they're delivering scenes that connect or resonate with people on multiple levels.

I said nothing bad about the author. But I disagree with you. She is not doing it just for fun. When you create something that has such a larger fanbase you feel the pressure.

How old are you btw? I'm talking here about the fact that only sex sells nowadays. And I don't think that's good. Have I no right to complain about that? Do you really think there is nothing wrong with culture nowadays? Do you? That's why I aks you how old you are. Maybe that's the only world you know. You say my stories are not as good as I think? People don't even read them because the know there is no love, no sex and no murder. How can they tell if the story is good or bad if they don't even look at it?
Do you know the manga "Zankoku na kami ga shihai suru"? The mangaka is quite famous. It's a work thats horrible to read because it's so tragic. At volume 8/9 it's getting in a different (more happy) direction. You really think that nowadays you can write a manga with so many volumes which aren't enjoyable? No publisher will take it. I read a lot of "new" manga lately and I'm surprised that at the end of chapter 1(!!!) they are in bed or at least they kiss. You don't even can take the time to develop the characters decently because otherwise the people will lose interest. The industry changed and I don't think to the better. The world became extremely superficial.

On a sidenote: I cannot imagine that a book like 50 shades of grey would ever got published without the social media you talk about. It was a Twilight fanfiction if I'm not wrong. And now tell me that's a book the world needed. As a woman I'm deeply ashamed that such rubbish was sold more often than Harry Potter. But I guess you will tell me I should chill because people have differnent tastes. I guess you're right. People should educate theire brains and hearts more ... but well, I'm the bitter one.

I guess not.
This artwork of hers in 19 days is far from her original serious artwork, and yes, it can be so pressuring if you have a large fan base. But, that's not what she came for. Judging by the first chapters of her story it's already predicted that she's just doodling, she never thought it'll go somewhere. I'm an online digital artist, I have my fair share of fan base. There are sometimes projects of mine that is off the scale, where people demands "this" and "that" yet I don't give a fuck. That's not what I came for, I'm just sharing my story, for FREE. Just by how you wrote your statement, it sounded as if you're sick of pleasing people rather than doing the fuck you want and being please of it. Rather than complaining why people aren't reading your decent story, be thankful of the little people who does. And if you say that NO ONE read it LITERALLY, doesn't that make your story just bad?

Then again, I am not looking for a fight. I am just sick of seeing people complain that unless there's sex etc. in the plot it won't get anywhere. We are authors, mate, we have our own specific specialty in genres that we chose. We are targeting a specific audience, Let us just PLEASE respect THAT.(≧∀≦) Rather than complaining and comparing.
