YEP. I’ve been thinking about this too. Whether his doctor friend could’ve made better moves to gain his affection (and consent!). But I think ultimately, it’s just that he isn’t into him like he is into Hanrim.
And what I think it's sadder is ending a friendship because it turned out to be a selfish jerk that just wanted to have lil fun when he barely lets people in. He got it so hard mentally and one of the few people he was close with let him down, I hope it truly won't affect him and that Hanrim doesn't have bad intentions too
I think it'll build up and affect him later on... all the talk about PTSD showing up in different ways and his alcoholism feels like it's pointing to that, I think yesol is approaching another breakdown eventually, he's already showing signs of being affected like when he was shocked at intae's healthy relationship (he masks it by being a jackass to him and not drinking the tea). He also didn't tell hanrim anything which is very yesol but hanrim had warned him about the doctor before... he's very dysfunctional at coping and I feel like whatever relationship he starts with hanrim now might still be him running away from things if he doesn't pause to process things properly and I think they will be facing big communication problems... I hope the story starts exploring the relationships in his life more and the last 10 years (no friends, his HS ex gf hyeri iirc, work, parents...) reminds me of the beginning where he didn't have anyone to talk to when taeyoung was busy, and it rlly sucks that the only friendship he had was based on lies and they were never actually friends, yesol naturally pushes people away with his personality and doesn't take care of himself and self destructs, and I hope he gets to unravel all that
yesol putting down the tea from intae's wife and acting like a jackass instead... he's so pathetic he literally can't process what he's witnessing GODDD, but he was also just assaulted by taeyoung and the only check up he gets is the other doc talking about PTSD and drinking but he just deflects and leaves the chapter is also insinuating religious trauma (explains his whole "I'm not gay" thing) and it also confirmed that he didn't realize taeyoung had bad intentions before, it's building up to Yesol's PTSD or incoming breakdown now... and I wonder if we're getting a flashback about the match fixing because everything is pointing towards yesol doing it for hanrim (the whole "you of all people shouldn't resent me" and "we were 17" and the end of ch15 with the drugs)... i wonder if yesols parents were affectionate to him or to each other... WE NEED MORE UNRAVELING SOMEONE RESOLVE HIS ISSUES PLEASE YAGGUK
