This kind of boys love is a thousand times better than meet and smash kind of yaoi. A really deep story delivered within a single chapter and still hits the feelings.
Dead seagulls aren't frequently found on the beach though. Birds can usually sense when they are not feeling well and seek places to be alone. Seagulls feast on all kinds of food including carrion so it's not safe to touch a dead seagull.
Suu doesn't want to meet the crown prince. Now he's trying to escape Saharah. What's the heck up with Suu?
Those people who "really love him" also manipulate and abuse him for their own gains. They use him as a political tool, as dragon food, as a fuckboi or even reject him.
He wanted to be in the palace for an easier life; to gain power & money and be free some day with NadaN. But what has the palace given him? Imprisonment, injuries, blackouts, memory loss, death threats, got his friend tortured, maybe even killed, and he might be losing his humanity as well (spooky dragon & blood magic OoOOo)
Combined that with all the harsh things Suu had to go through since he was a child (slavery btw), I can understand him wanting to run away.
Aww, great. Now the whole build up between the crown prince and Suu had been nothing but a sham the whole time. The crown prince had been forcing Suu against his will.*Facepalm
So, Suu preferred Nadan over the crown prince although Nadan did absolutely nothing for Suu. Then, Nadan disappeared after the fire and Suu didn't even appear to be sad, he was like ok, then I will run by myself. The build up between Suu and Nadan is almost non existent.
Well considering Suu wasn't allowed to leave the shrine and even had his ankle broken by the Prince so he'd stay put, yeah he's been forced to do some things, but not all the time. There is something between them but right now it's a bit twisted considering they both have their own goals, they both have issues and trauma, and there is the whole dragon-heir-power-struggle thing happening in the palace that's pressurizing them.
Suu and Nadan have been friends since their childhood, and a lot of what Suu is doing right now (working at the palace and for the Consort) was to help Nadan and himself escape some day, to be free together. Right now Suu thinks Nadan is dead because the Consort's assistant came and told Suu that Nadan had died in a fire. So his initial reason to stay at the palace is gone and with people trying to assassinate him and fighting over him, he said fk that I'm out.
But what he feels for Nadan seems pretty one-sided; Nadan doesn't want anything to do with Suu anymore and it's one of the things Suu has been reflecting on for a while. There were flashbacks about it (chapters 78 and 79 for example).
Anyway, I'm sure there will be an arc where Suu stops trying to run away from everything and he decides to confront the Prince, Sahara, Nadan, the Consort and maybe even himself. Can't run forever! C o m m u n i c a t e
I am pretty sure this manhwa isn't happy go lucky type of manga where everyone is happy with healthy relationship. So,let's forget about trauma and healthy relationships here.
The prince was fairly soft on Suu considering he's a prince, his secret wasn't supposed to be known by strangers, especially his worst enemy, the scar lady and Suu exactly did that. The prince should have done more than breaking his ankle, lmao. People think the prince did a horrible thing because he punished Suu for betraying him?
Before that, the scar lady even stabbed Suu and Suu still sided with her. What kind of stupidity is this?
I like when ukes are manipulative and smart. Suu is smart enough to manipulate both the prince and the dragon. That's great. But the real turn off was all Suu wanted is Nadan, Nadan, Nadan(who didn't give a shit about him)...and then working with the scar lady, who should be the least potential ally for him. He actually believed that the scar lady would let him go after he completed the mission? Lmao. It's amazing the uke is smart and also incredibly stupid at the same time.
The author doesn't want Suu to have a loving relationship with the prince? Ok, give him a pretty good reason to hate the prince and build up the relationship exactly like that. It should have been the way to go. BUT all the manga showed was how Suu and the prince got closer, how the prince became attached to Suu and then bam, Suu suddenly went "I hate the prince. I want to kill him." And then proceeded to team up with the worst person in the manga.
I know that Suu just liked Nadan one sidedly. Suu willingly made a deal with the lady which involves BOTH Nadan and him running away. The lady knew that and tried to kill Nadan in a fire. Still Suu didn't blame the lady (he should have been suspicious when Nadan died) but continued to believe in her that she would free her.
Nadan rejected him even tho Suu begged the prince to forgive him. (At the same time, Suu and the prince have shown interest in each other, after that the Nadan topic was dropped and forgotten til the lady tried to assassinate Suu, which led Suu to made a deal with her) And then Suu heard Nadan suddenly died. Suu didn't even falter. He didn't even show one bit of sadness or emotion(he should if he was supposed to be attached to Nadan) and just ran away by himself. Nadan crush was very poorly written and pretty inconsistent.
Besides I still believe that the author would try to bring up Nadan again by making him survive that fire somehow. More likely when things are going well between Suu and the dragon or the prince. Just to prolong the story.
All your comments seem spot on I was cheering so hard for suu but my eyes were opened that suu is smart but dumb. And that made me and with each chapter I was like this is some bs I feel like the author doesn't know what they want to do with characters. Like overall the plot is a good one but the execution is starting to falter !

Alright. I see there are many Suryeon haters. What do you expect? He's a prince. He had many rivals who tried to dispose of him and he facing many enemies. He secured his throne by doing desperate measures such as letting a dragon go rampant. Now, y'all are hoping he gave up everything for Suu who is literally nobody. Excuse me, as much as I love ukes who are manipulative, I also don't like soft hearted seme who is dumb and gives up everything for uke. You don't like SuuxSuryeon ship? Think their relationship is toxic? You're reading a manga where a drought suffering country is relying on a manslaughtering dragon's power. If you don't like it then, great! Why are you still reading it then?
And also who are thinking of replying to me, think twice about what a crown PRINCE means. And also think about Suu's status.
