I think he's confusing the time the robber hit him with Guwon killing his dad. You can see the blacked out person changes to the dads clothes after he is hit, way back in the prologue. And in the new memories in the latest chapters
Also explains why he'd been waking up strangling Guwon from his dreams - his subconscious remembered.
Just clarifying myself again, he'd already been hit. They'd already been robbed, the dad went to get him water, came back and Guwon came in and killed the dad, was about to kill mc too.
