what kind of ending is that?

Nothing about what happened to Hee-Eun (is she dead? Locked somewhere, etc), her mom and the Professor's dad. Nothing about what happened with Yeonju's two college friends. Nothing explained why Jae-hee is going to Germany with Yeonju. Nothing explained about where the Professor been for 10 years. Nothing explained about Yeonju and prof relationship after 10 freaking years.

I'm extremely disappointed

If the author needed a break then she/he could have at least go on hiatus instead of giving the readers an unfulfilled like this.

The author built the plot and thriller story so great many readers hooked because of it, but decided to end it in a rushed,,
I would rather have younju move on, i can understand if it's 1-3 years, but 10 years with no words? Nah ah,,

The author probably decided to end it in a rush because she/he had a problem with lezhin like so many authors,, just so she/he can ended the contract with lezhin ASAP,,

What a shame to a great story,, the shitty ending ruined it all,,

If the author decided to make a rushed ending, atleast make a decent epilogue like moonlight garden to ease readers feeling,,

I'm binge reading this for 4 days and i regret it,,

Libby July 26, 2019 2:16 am

Damn, seeing seju at peace, can go to work (even only for shareholder meeting), looking at sumin but can smiling at ease, so happy to see it,,

Than seeing her literally bury her brother like that, i forgot seju can be scary too,, even tho her brother deserve it,,

Cliffhanger after cliffhanger,,
Now we are force to wait to see seju reaction toward won after hearing her bastard brother statement about won,,

Libby July 14, 2019 6:45 pm

Finally i found another yuri manhwa with heavy drama that u can't predict what's gonna happen in the next chapter,,

I like grace's character even tho she is twisted, manipulative, and selfish,(all combination of all the bad you name it) she is truly care and love herta,, especially after she found out she is sick, she let her true nature came out. well on the other hand grace became that way cause she isolated from anything beside herta and her twisted family since whe was a kid,,

I felt bad for herta, she become the victim in all of this, deep inside herta still a good girl who only want to she her mother,,

I wish herta x grace will naturally closer to each other without herta feel the need to do it because she is a slave. And i wish grace will realize that she can't make someone love her because of her status.

Although i hope this manhwa gonna have a happy end, but looking at the plot so far right now i think we are all need to prepare for sad or tragic ending,,

    Rorschach July 31, 2019 5:15 pm

i feel like its more realistic for it to be tragic since a slave/master love relationship is tragic. Herta almost cant love her bc she doesnt feel like she has the freedom of choice. Andy probably loves her bc she also doesnt have freedom albeit in much different ways. Andy has fallen for the illusion Herta created in order to survive so its all kinda doomed

Libby June 21, 2019 12:12 am

I've been hesitated for so long to read this even tho so many people said that this is one of the yuri masterpiece, because i won't be able to read this manhwa until finish because the author has passed away,, and i don't like to read unfinished story.

After a long while i decided to try to read it anyway, and my impression on this manhwa is the art is not as fabolous as i.g ratana satis or team gaji works, but it has its own charm, withouth the extra smooth art the drawing feels warm, the characters expression is still spot on,,

And the plot, man talk about really sloooowww burn, but strange enough it didn't makes me feel annoyed to the author decision to make the story line like this,, i would like to think this is how it suppose to be when you only familiar with het relationship and suddenly you met a new one but with same gender, understandably both lead female needs to think through what is the meaning of their feeling, is it only care for best friend, sister or lover,,

I could only imagine what ssamba could have done if only she could finish this story, with 68 chapters without fan service at all she manage to make so many people love her works,,
If only i could know what ssamba planned for seol a and no rae, i would be very happy,, even tho i know it's impossible,,

Rest in peace ssamba,, your works is beautiful,,

    Otacon July 9, 2019 5:49 am

That was exactly my feeling 2 years ago. Ii was very hesitant to read this before when I saw it was on hiatus coz the ssamba was sick. Then i gave it a try and was very hook to it like a finished the whole chapters in a day and ended up screaming coz it was a cliffhanger. I reread this story for like nth time already as this was one of the best yuri or shoujo ai manga I read. It was realistic and the feeling of falling in love unknowingly touched my heart and kinda relate to it.. too bad ssamba was gone and nobody can do a better fanfic for this. Urg

At this point, it seems like ONE is much more popular than main story and paradise, especially for seju fans (like me). That it got me thinking what is the point for paradise anyway? To give readers insight of how happy and precious relationship between seju & sumin? To show why seju is so attached to sumin? Or to make seju & sumin sipper crying their heart out? (ok, 55% kidding with this).

Whatever the reason in the end we already know the end of it anyway, and IMO the background story between seju & sumin already explain in main story even if not very detailed but i'm sure the readers already understand how precious and complicated story of seju & sumin.

So it got me thinking why not go ahead for ONE instead of have 13 chapters paradise (more or less?)

Anyway, So far ONE is very satisfying, not at all rushed, very natural, how can i say it, seju & won interaction is so beautiful, i never though that interaction between two individual can be more intens than sex scene in a beautiful way,,

My hope for one is of course that it got many more chapters than paradise, it has to makes sense so it can overcome seju & sumin past (so far the progress is great), got deeper bond than sumin & sungji relationship, and last i really want after seju together with won, they will coincidentally or just met up with sumin so that seju really realize she already get over sumin and love won 1000%,, and sumin know that seju can be happy without her,,

At this point i just want seju to be happy and got to the point i don't mind cheesy plot as long as seju happy with won LOL,,
But team gaji won't give us that, after all they love heavy drama,, that's one of many things i love about wdtfs anyway,,

    Laura June 17, 2019 9:04 am

I think that the popularity of One can be due to the fact that, tho it's just my observation and I can be wrong, but for a majority of people who read wdtfs Seju was either their favourite character, or at least they liked her similarly to other characters (for instance, there are people who are team blonde, but still say that Seju deserves to have a happy ending and thus are still invested in reading One). Also, it's not a secret that it's been years since wdtfs started and during this time Team Gaji's writing and drawing has been improving constantly, so the way I see it a relationship between Seju and Won also, just like you said, develops very naturally and I'd arguably say that its beginning is way more convincing than the beginning of Sumin x Sungji. It's also really heartwarming to see a character that's been through so much drama and pain to finally be able to smile and act like herself and if you combine it with a really nice art then it can also be an explanation why so many people are drawn to this story.

When it comes to what you said about Paradise, I agree that flashbacks from main story already gave us a lot of information about past of Seju and Sumin - enough to make us emotionally invested in life of these characters, their current relationship, heck it even resulted in many people rooting more for Sumin getting back with Seju instead of moving on with Sungji, but maybe Paradise wasn't there for the same purpose?
Cause the way I see it, even tho these side stories can work as stand-alones, after all they are a part of a coherent story. And if you read Paradise, you see that it starts with Sumin being occupied by her thoughts when Seju is finally moving out and ends with Seju waiting for her flight, with a surprisingly calm expression. To me it just indicates that both characters were reflecting on their relationship, mostly its ups rather than downs and Paradise was just a result of this "mutual reflection". I'd actually say that Paradise was more important for Seju's character than Sumin's, because at the end we see her going back to the very first memory of how these two met and realising that they used to love each other, no matter what people kept saying and no matter how ugly their relationship turned out to be later and with this though in mind Seju is able to acknowledge Sumin and thus her feelings for her as a part of her past and finally move on - not hating Sumin, but also not really loving her anymore as well (contrary to how the main wdtfs story ended with her saying "goodbye, I love you", because judging by the length of her hair, there is a distance of a few months between the end of wdtfs and the end of paradise, so Seju had a lot of time to reflect on her feelings) which then gives her a nice opening for everything that is about to happen in One, including her new relationship. Moreover, after all Team Gaji created such a complex and emotional relationship between these characters, so I wouldn't be surprised if they just wanted to show us how it all started between these two, how they met, how they used to treat each other as friends and then girlfriends which is something that flashbacks from the main story were able to show in a much smaller percent.
Tho of course, this is just the way I personally see it, but I think that Paradise was an important reflection for both Sumin and Seju and even if it's focused on relationship that we already understood, it definitely offers a more in-depth explanation of it, even for such things as development of Seju's possessiveness or how forgiving Sumin could be back then. Also, Team Gaji is not necessary the one to be solely focused on pleasing their audience - after all, they take their time to make a side story about secondary character like Nammi and episodic characters like Dawoon and Sangmi that people care less about, but they go for it because they care about characters they created and the stories that are planning to tell and it can be the same for Seju's and Sumin's past

As for the rest of your comment - I agree with everything! And I think that One will be way longer than Paradise, there's a high chance that it will be the longest out of all side-stories, cause it has so much material to cover - first, the exploration of a completely new characters, then the exploration of Seju's personality when she's not occupied with Sumin, relationship between Seju and Won, possibly any dangerous situation that is about to happen in this villa, combined with Seju's family that seems to be still relevant. If I had to guess, I'd say that One may have around 30-40 chapters? That is, of course, if these things are all going to be explored

    yoyo June 17, 2019 10:27 pm

A final goodbye to the relationship between Seju and Sumin, and for me it was necessary because they needed a better closure for their relationship and Paradise did a better job than the main story. I loved the final scene with Seju leaving all about Sumin behind her, even the farewell note, and heading alone to an unknown future, it was very symbolic. At the same time the farewell note and that Seju and Sumin remember only the good times about their relationship gave me a little hope that they can be friends in the future.

Also Paradise is like a link that chronologically connects the main story with One.

I agree with you. It’s necessary for us to know more about how Seju found her first love. And how that past leads her to the new start in Jeju island to meet her second and the last love . Actually in paradise , she mentioned jeju island and swimming. And that’s all happen now

I agree with you - Paradise gives both characters and readers a way better closure to a past relationship of Sumin and Seju. Because, after all, main story is focused mostly on Sumin, so she and Sungji, as a main couple, will occupy the majority of a plot and thus the ending to Sumin's and Seju's relationship (with Sumin crying because Sungji left her and Seju finally saying goodbye, while at the same time still confessing her love to the only person she's ever been in a relationship with) definitely fits bitter and more dramatic parts of a story, but doesn't give any feeling of being complete - which is something that Paradise does very well
Also, personally I would have trouble finding first chapters of One as believable, if Paradise didn't exist in a first place. Not necessary because of the fact that Seju at the end of a main story was still around Sumin - after all, there is a distance of few months between the end of a main story and the start of One, which gives a plenty of time to move on, but because the way Seju acted at the end would never be balanced with any image of her coming to terms with finally leaving her past behind. Cause imagine Seju slowly becoming interested in another girl, when the last crucial moment when we saw her was while she said "I love you" to Sumin. I think that what Paradise and (as for me) the most important chapter of it - which was the last chapter - do is they show that Seju is ready to move on, just judging by her somewhat peaceful expression and the fact that she just left behind a note that Sumin gave her, instead of still holding on to it desperately

Waw,, your reply is really long, i like it btw makes me excited to have a discussion,,

About the art, yeah, i remember the first time i read wdtfs i didn't really like the art, the story is kinda hard to understand, and suddenly there were a hard core sex scene that seems meaningless, i didn't favor all of it and put off to read it after less then 10 chapters for a few months,,
Until i decided to try to read it and finally got hooked,, the art keep getting better and better, sometimes i felt like i was too invested to this manhwa, i felt like the characters are too real and they have emotion and alive, hahaha,, that's how you know how good the authors are,,

Well if team gaji do make 40 chapters for One, i think they would be the only author who make side story that almost half chapter of the main story (most of the author i know only make less then 5 chapters for side story),, i won't complain at all tho, but realistically i think they would make twice as many chapter than paradise to 30 chapters for enough to cover won's background, make seju & won story believable and have a strong bond, seju's family, etc,, here'a to hoping that team gaji would make more than 40 chapters,, at this rate i swear it would be better for team gaji to make a whole new series just for seju

    Laura June 19, 2019 9:08 am

YES! SAME! At first I didn't get into reading wdtfs, cause at that time it wasn't finished and there were so many people saying that they think it may turn out to be some sort of a threesome story and I was just like,, man, I don't have time to read over 80 chapters about that :') Then when I found out that it's actually sort of a drama/love triangle situation I wasn't interested either, cause I don't usually like this trope (tho Team Gaji actually executed it very well!) and, just like you said, during first chapters art is not as good and it seemed pretty stiff and story in general starts very slow, but after few chapters it easily makes you suddenly invested in live of these characters

You are right - 30 chapters is probably enough, tho I also wouldn't mind if it was a bit longer. And I'm pretty sure that One may be the longest out of all side-stories, cause when you think about it, after all Seju was a crucial character in the main story, she went through a lot and so there's a lot of topics that are probably going to be discussed in her own journey. Besides, in her case, it takes a while to fall for someone again and Won as well is either a bit oblivious, or holding herself back so it will take more chapters for them to end up together. Tho, after 7 chapters they already start to be getting closer, so you may be right, 30 chapters could be enough!

And yeah, sometimes I tend to write long essays in comment section, but that's just cause I really like writing in general and I'm happy that you read it and liked it! c:

Libby June 17, 2019 6:40 am

I was fortunate to have read pulse as my first yuri,, it was completely coincidence out of boredome i picked this up,,

the story is mature and the plot is interesting, nice flow, not rushed, not at all cheesy, with great drama and pretty good joke in between that make the story not always heavy,,sure there were few drama that unnecessary, but characters development for both lead female, especially Mel is so good and natural for someone who used to play around for sex, having denial of her feelings, but slowly but surely she admit that she cares for lynn until finally can fall in love and will do anything for lynn, while Lynn also shown a good development from a spoiled brat to a woman who can unselfishly gave up her happiness just for mel (even tho she did not know it was sue doing that make her break mel's heart)

I really love it when they call each other "love" and "dearest",, it really heartwarming,,

Pulse always will be one of my favorite,, i don't know how many times i've read this, but I absolutely gonna reread this in the future,,

Mel & Lynn story is really beautiful, best work from Ratana IMHO,, and yes much much better than lily love and lily love 2,,

Libby June 12, 2019 10:43 pm

Ok,, this is unexpected from high school yuri manga,, chitose and yae is both mature and innocent,, their story is well developed, and while only 18 ch, it not feel rush at all,,
A rare things from yuri high schooler,,

I also like the senpai, i though she will be the antagonis in story, funny things is she become a good friend with yae and chitose

And on top of that you just said to ice you care about her, and she should trust you,,,,

Uuugghhh,, i don't like this cheesy plot story at all,,

Ah well i guess i have to put up with this drama for several chapter ( ̄へ ̄)

Next, ice will be hurt, ploy try to explain to her and justify her action, she will fix her relationship with ice and ice gonna forgive her,, and who knows what her step mother and useless father gonna do for the next chapters,,

Ugghhh i'm furious of this story development,,
Why not stick to ploy x ice instead this stupid drama,,

The character development of ice & ploy barely exist beside both of them realize feelings for each other,,

Nope,, i'm not saying that ploy's plan is over, i'm just saying that i don't like this cheesy predictable plot (ploy making an unnecessary drama withouth telling ice, while she knew ice will be hurt, and so on, yada yada).

I know ploy have her reason and maybe a plan to finish it all with good ending. But still it's just mel and lynn temporary breakup again with reason that really avoidable.

I'm sure 700% that ploy x ice will get their happy ending, but i just wish the story and drama will be focusing on them, like pulse and LL love 1, not another couple in high school, we got enough yuri story for that age.

And from the beginning the story is about ice x ploy,, i don't get the urgency to add mook x khing, their story is not interesting enough for me,, i always skip their chapters,,

It just seems so forced and unnecessary tbh. Like seriously, the little sister needs to be the one to grow a backbone like Ploy advised her to and just tell her mother firmly she doesn't want to marry the guy and so on.

exactly! Especially that Mook's mother told her a few chapters before that she can convince her to cancel this engagement. Mook could at least try, but she chose to do nothing at all. Ploy could also talk with Ice about it and I'm pretty sure that together they'd figure out something way smarter - it would also make their relationship stronger and show that Ice is not just a girl Ploy occasionally sleeps with.
And by the way, if Ploy wants Mook to grow up, then making this entire plan without her and expecting nothing from her, instead putting so much work on Nadia and Khing is not the best idea as well

Um... the story's not over yet? Ice can still call Ploy out on her BS? Mook can still stand up to Arisa? Ploy can still reflect on how hasty she's being? There could still be more to her plan? I'm just saying, y'all should wait and see how Ratana plays this out.

Also, people making rash and questionable decisions in the spur of the moment? It's almost like real people act like this sometimes! You know, cause people are flawed?

Just cause the story isn't over, it doesn't mean that no one can comment on stuff that's currently happening, just cause "we should wait, maybe the story will progress and actually be clever". Well, if it does, then great! I'd love that to happen, but anyone can judge and comment on each chapter and as long as you actually have something constructive to say and have arguments, I don't see problem with these negative opinions, especially that a lot of people bring up really valid points

What rush decision are you talking about? Ploy spent a lot of chapters preparing her plan and digging into this gay dude's background and as far as we know, the part of a plan that is revealed is just dumb

    Heavensrun June 8, 2019 6:23 pm

The problem is that all of the wailing about how terrible this is and how Ice is going to be hurt and how Ploy is being shortsighted, -assumes- that this is the end of the plan. If this isn't the end of the plan, those people are getting upset over nothing. And you're digging in on being upset about it, which means that when it DOES turn out that there is a broader plan and that plan is fully revealed, you're all gonna be too embarassed to just say "Ooh, I see what was going on, Ploy's plan was actually clever/effective/less foolish than I thought" and you're all going to blame the writing, because that's what people DO on the internet now. They get furious about problems they invented and then blame the author for their invented problem.

Just chill out and see what happens.

And as for Mook "growing a backbone", Teenagers raised by abusive parents are trained since childhood to submit to authority and that any conflict between their self-worth and their parent's wishes. The ability of their brain to resist is literally crippled. It's like seeing someone with a broken leg held prisoner in an open cell and going "why don't they just walk out??"

By making the decision to run away, she IS standing up to her mom. All Ploy is doing is clearing an escape route.

Well if you read ratana's previous works, than you should be understand why so many people upset with mook's existance, because in pulse and LL1 the story centered between 2 protagonis, not like LL2 who suddenly while the story still warming up for ice & ploy suddenly mook is entered that feel so forced
While making ice not like protagonis anymore, but more like side character that ploy occasionally met and having sex with.

i do believe ratana has her reason and a plan to smooth things out. I'm just hoping that the story won't be suddenly rushed to get an ending and all the drama with mook's many chapter feel useless. I really hope in the end LL2 can get a high reputation just like ratana's previous works.
