I believe that the relic didn't work on him. And that he still pretended to be affected by it since he now knows her actual age and reason. Because I know for a fact anyone who doesn't know tyer's real age would carry her in their arms like that, besides he is a big figure, a commander! Oh gramps def has a soft spot for tyer even though he doesn't know that's his granddaughter.
How disappointing of Oscar, wanting to do your best for abel doesn't justify what was done to lio. I don't like the mage always taking abel's side. Abel needs help. Too bad gray was late
I don’t think the mage was taking Abel’s side, I think (from my perspective and how it was explained in the carriage) that the mage knew Hardy was being manipulated by Gray and if he didn’t say anything — knew Hardy would be upset/leave without all the facts (which is what Gray wants). Which if he leaves, power to it, but he shouldn’t be pushed into it by someone who is doing it for their own greed/because they want Hardy for himself.

Anyone know more stories like this?? Most preferably without horror elements, but still do recommend
maybe the new one “the painter who draws dungeons” ? or smth similar to that title? the pacing is rlly fast compared to the novel but the mc is very similar to soleum
My House of Horrors. It was my first horror-comedy-introspective novel I read. I love it.
There's also the Underworld Restaurant here. Very well drawn and I am sure the novel is even better
