Honestly I doubt you've ever been mentally unstable, cause If you have or understand how the human mind works, this is a sad phycological manga, it literally portrays 2 mentally unstable ppl, sangwoo who had to go through abuse since a young age and yoonbum who was abused in his military service and socially before that,
None of them got treatment but rather adapted in their own various ways so they can look normal based on societal standard, they both had different ways of dealing with situations, their methods were sth they developed they weren't thought or shown what was right or wrong.
Now if you portray this to reality, different ppl have different ways of dealing or handling trauma, that is how we have serial killers, homicides,etc and ppl that end up in the asylum. This Manga perfectly portrayed mental unstablity unique in its own different ways to each character.
Even I understood this when I read it 8yrs ago at age 11
