Honestly the whole groveling arc with the prince was much better in the novel and felt more drawn out and emotional. Anyway… we’re reaching a climax point AHHHH!! One of my favorite parts!!!

How are we 40+ chapters in and there’s literally 0 character development from Jaekhyung

Okay, let’s rewind alll the way before the entire stabbing incident and erase all of it. Here is another story path Jinx could’ve explored….
Kim Dan comes home with cake and Jaekyung also comes back with cake and flowers. They run into each other in front of jaekyung’s door holding their stuff both puzzled. They go inside and Kim Dan awkwardly says he got cake for him to celebrate his match the next day and bought food so they could eat together as he looks over to the cake and flowers Jaekyung bought. Jaekyung sees Kim Dan look at his stuff and awkwardly says he also bought cake for him because his birthday was the day after the match but since he would be leaving he got it for him before the match. Scene switches to them eating their cake and having conversation. Kim Dan thanks Jaekyung for letting him stay and recuperate all this time and says he’ll be sure to leave first thing in the morning the day after the match. This sours Jaekyung’s mood all over again and he becomes silent. After some time, Jaekyung says he needs to bother Kim Dan one last time before his match tomorrow. Kim Dan pauses for a moment and then nods in agreement. Scene switch to sexy time. We can think of Mingwa’s last sex scene between Jaekyung and Kim Dan… they both enjoyed it. They get done and Jaekyung has this lurching feeling of dread. All he can think about is how Kim Dan is leaving him after his match tomorrow. He wished tomorrow wouldn’t come. Fast forward to match time. Jaekyung’s mood is completely sour and down. He can’t focus on his match because he’s too preoccupied thinking about Kim Dan. Match time. Jaekyung is in the ring with Jumin round 1 and immediately gets nailed in the face by Jumin because Jaekyung isn’t focusing. Rest is history. Jaekyung loses his entire match. But he had sex with Kim Dan the night before. What about his jinx? Does this mean the jinx isn’t there anymore? Jaekyung can’t use sex as an excuse now that the jinx failed. He lost his match and now has to think of a way to get Kim Dan to stay.
This would drag on the story line much longer but would give even more time for Jaekyung to straighten up his attitude more towards Kim Dan.
