Okay, so I read somewhere (totally forgot) that this was actually part of the main story and the wedding and everything was suppose to happen after. But the editor didn't like this and had the author change it. So now it makes sense why this chapter feels out of place.

Agreed, but if they had let the author part it in the story line midway, it would have made more sense.
