I’m going to say this once because the “it’s just a tan” excuse is getting old.

When a character is suddenly darkened, paired with exaggerated sexual traits, and framed as more dominant or animalistic next to a lighter character—that’s not neutral design. That’s a pattern.

And when that pattern overlaps with “slave” or ownership dynamics, it gets even worse. Those tropes don’t exist in a vacuum—they echo a real history where darker bodies were treated as property and hypersexualized at the same time. Turning that into a fetish or aesthetic isn’t harmless. It normalizes and trivializes something that was—and still is—deeply harmful.

You can call it a “tan,” but when the visual contrast, body portrayal, and context all line up like this, it’s clearly leaning into stereotypes about darker bodies being hypersexual, physically overwhelming, and existing for someone else’s use.

That’s why people speak up about it. Not to “ruin the fun,” but because ignoring patterns like this is exactly how they keep getting repeated.

I’m not overthinking it—you’re underexamining it.

Unless you yourself has experienced what it's like to have dark skin, you will never understand why this is offensive. There’s no point in arguing with palm colored people who can't understand how this world fetishizes black/brown people.

When you look at anime-style media (specifically drawn from asians), there is a repeated theme of black men having big d**ks and or involved in NTR. If you actually pay attention for once and stopped making excuses, you'd notice the theme of “dark elf slave” or how black/brown people are glorified as sexual objects or slaves for battle. Is somewhat accurate to certain parts of America. Brown/Black people have been used as human experiments (look up the origins of pap smears or idk remain ignorant). The whole “black people are built different” response correlates with artificial selective breeding during slavery.

History lesson. The reason why you'll see that sort of build is because during those 400+ years of torture. My people were forced to grape and be graped, in order to produce better “workers”. Young girls 10-15 (the moment they got their periods) were held down and brutally graped by multiple men at once. Any male slave who resisted would be lashed or killed. At worse, they'd tort*re the mother to gain obedience.


And the only reason why native Americans stopped being enslaved was because their immune system was too weak to handle that sort of torture on top of their oppressors diseases. Natives are damn near extinct because of slavery and fetishes. So repeating the same mindset of the oppressor is disgusting. It's not a tan, it's a fetish. I don't know nearly as much of their history but it won't stop me from being respectful.





Ngl in my personal opinion. People like you guys are the reason there's so much evil in the world today. You would rather excuse bad behavior than defend people who were wronged. Ask yourself this. We don't steal or pillage. And yet when we voice our thoughts, the immediate response is to roll your eyes and say it's “exaggerated”. You people defend weirdos like your lives are at stake. For what? We're human. We bleed the same. We love and feel emotions the same as you.

You'd rather defend your weirdo homies that foam at the mouth when they can't say a slur, than hold them accountable. Ngl if you people actually looked inside and reevaluate your beliefs, I'm 10000000% sure all forms of crime would drastically decrease. Kids would be protected. People would respect and care for each other. Men would be protected. Women would be protected. Mentally ill people would get the help they deserve. Humans deserve more than thoughts and prayers.
