This story honesty was so sad and heartbreaking, this is my second time rereading it and i think it’s worse because i know how it’ll turn out. His whole life is terrible and we could js see how he lost his entire sense of self and became severally depressed which isn’t shocking at all. It was very hypocritical to see what grey haired guy said about him not being happy but not surprising no matter how much he said he didn’t want him to love him obviously he did. Maybe not at the start I think he did just want to break him but after he did it was like now what, he’s in to deep and now he finally did break and there’s nothing left to want. I think he imagined after he broke it would magically work out but ofc it didn’t. I think when it really really got bad was after he stopped mc from getting a job, after that it’s unsurprising that he turned to alcohol. And i think grey hair guy misinterpreted his reason for getting drunk all the time it’s cs he can’t stand him otherwise and then he would’ve tried to kill himself earlier. Honestly I wanted mc to be successful in his attempt, I think it would’ve been better then going back to live with the rapist and it would’ve made the abuser miserable. Even at the end of the story we saw how selfish he was, he couldn’t even let mc be alone or try to move on from him for 5 seconds before doubling back. And when he was describing what he loves about him like how he’s honest and his strong personality it was crazy bc he’s not even like that anymore cs of him. He’s not honest when he’s saying he likes it or wtv just because he’s scared. I liked that even when he was drunk he never said he loved him. And although it’s unfortunate I see why he went back even if it’s a dumb decision. He’s js been told that he has no one and he’s worthless for many months straight so obviously that’s what he thinks. Abuser guy set it up so he would be alone with no where to go so he’d run back. I don’t think there’s a big chance of the mc being happy. I think he’ll become an alcoholic again and even if they make progress in they’re relationship I think abuser will eventually fuck it up and drive mc to khs or it’ll just make a bigger divide. I don’t think it’ll stop until the mc leaves in some way.
