honestly idk m as confused as you and the no one had been answering me with what ACTUALLY happened so far

This poor manga fell victim to the aftermath of the ending of the manhwa "wet sand", a "love triangle" gangster story where the mc ends up with the person from his past rather than the civilian 2nd ml. This manhwa is known for the clash between the fandom on every social media known to man, it was so bad in batot0 (rip) that the mods threatened to close down the comments section. Now that it ended, a lotta people who liked the 2nd ml weren't happy about it.

Now where does wabi sabi fall in this whole kerfuffle? The art of this manga has been apparently compared to the one of wet sand, the characters resemble the "could have been endgame" of ws aka Ian and jo. But it's not like characters can share similar designs right?? Crazy i know. You can find characters from different stories that share identical designs but I've never seen anyone be THAT aggressive about it like in here. So yeah the similarities were taken a bit way too personally so it started getting flooded with 1 stars.

Well the 1 stars have had to come from someone right? They didn't just magically appear! but whether it's bc the art is similar or something else, who knows? But I won't specify which side of the fandom is doing that, bc both have shown an insane level of immaturity, it could be the endgame fans aka "tjians", or the 2nd ship whose ml didn't end up with the mc aka "joians", the latter could be pulling this stunt and downvoting the manga just to add to the known bad reputation of the first side, even tho this manga apparently "celebrates their lost ship". And I say this about some of the fans of the second ship because they've been everything but normal after that manhwa ended. They even went as far as sending death threats to the author, attacking her with every insult impossible on twitter, downvoting wet sand on the official platform and giving it 1 star, basically doing the same that's being done to this manga. So yeah you can't dismiss the fact they the could be also part of this whole drama here.

Anyway this is what you could say happened. I'm sorry if you were willing to read wet sand since I spoiled the ending, but it was inevitable if wanted to make sense of the issue.

And I also want to say, before anyone comes at me, I'm on nobody's side, and I'm not saying everyone who's a fan of the ships is crazy or toxic or anything, there are people who read it and moved on despite not liking the ending, and there are also others who are happy with it but didn't harass anyone in the past or after it ended. I personally read the story and moved on, and I never even thought of getting into fights with someone over a fictional character whether I liked the ending or not. People who get too heated and resolve to throwing insults or worse, instead of discussing and making criticisms in a civil way are doing way too much and need to relax.


Idk how wabi sabi is doing on the official platform it's being published on, so I can't tell you how it's being treated there, but it's a shame it's being dogpiled on in here bc whether the art is similar or not, I think it's a cute story! And I couldn't care less about wet sand ships.

Anyway to conclude I'm sorry for the yap I tried to summarise as much as possible ╮(￣▽￣)╭

First of all thank you so much for taking your time writing this I am genuinely grateful.

The reason why I asked in the first place is once I read a story I always try to buy official chapters or physical copies to ease my consciousness being here, and when I saw drama unfolding like this I was trying to educate myself to see what’s going (in case I am supporting a very problematic author… well i am on an illegal site so it’s not any better but unfortunately i don’t have much money to waste on things i won’t read again…).

At first I did some digging on my own but then the versions kept changing each time so I realized there are two sides of people who are curating this mess. In the end I am with you, I am on no one side from now on. I am just here to read in peace in the first place in the midst of this chaos.

And don’t worry about spoiling wetsand I tend to avoid love triangle because of these particular reasons, but who knows i might try to support both artists on my own seeing that both just had toxic fans. Again, thank you kind soul for explaining me what’s truly going on !!

your frustration is on point! It's obvious that this site does more harm than good, but there are people like you who use it as reference to see if something is worth spending money on or not, to at least lessen the damage. So it doesn't really help if you come to a comment section of a story that seems somewhat interesting and you find it flooded with nonsensical drama and no input about the story itself.

And as someone who also relies on comments to decide whether smth is worth reading, I'd say it shouldn't be always the case, and this story here proves it. I liked the first chapter but sadly this is all what we have. However I'm not familiar with the author since this is the first work of them that I check, but it lead me to read their other work here and tbf I can't say I'm a big fan of their other story, genuinely it has a very nice premise and idea but it was ruined with rape ╥﹏╥, but this story seems to have potential so I hope it doesn't get ruined as well.

And I could say the same about wet sand, don't let the people commenting reflect the story itself. You should be the judge of that, so if you might wanna change your mind in the future give it a try! For a debut it has very nice art and atmosphere imo.
