According to the novel, he wasnt described as pale, though. His complexion was fine around these chapters, as he was fed well, but no specific description was mentioned, from what I remember. (i read the novel 4 yrs ago, so i could be a bit wrong as well)

The skin colour taekjoo had at the beginning of the series and now is crazy difference why make him brown on the first place if he gonna be pale now ts just racism
