What's a basic life skill that everyone should know, in your opinion?

Very basic stuff but reading a clock (I recently met a girl in college who didn't know how to read the clock in our class) and also swallowing pills (same girl ate 4 of those chewable kids tablets whenever she got a headache). Grow up please
