Kept feeling bad for nathaniel the whole time. I think they tried to let it slide by saying “it’s just a political relationship anyways” by the latest chapters but that’s just lazy writing.

He’s not doing shit. Everything was handled by nathaniel who came to the rescue and chris’s dad who planned the counter attack while the emperor is having existential crisis and love problems.
Chris had potential. But they ruined him.
A medical man from modern times supported by a loving family. But in the end he’s just the same old brainless romantic character.
Can’t even support them because neither seem fit to rule a country. Yeah the emperor shouldve just retired and marry chris and live in the country or sumn….
It’s so frustrating for nathaniel. They wanted to use him as a foil for chris, but it’s just not working out. It’s sad to see him desperate and becoming insecure of his own body. And by the end it seems like it’s already over for him because of his family’s betrayal, even though they knew that he’s just a pawn and was about to be pimped out AGAIN to another emperor (just like he was pimped to allen, can’t convince me otherwise).
Allat and he’s never done anything wrong.
Nathaniel as a character just seems more likable, has more depth and personality than the supposed mc with medical cheat.
Despite being betrayed on all sides, nathaniel didn’t turn into a villain and bravely admitted his family’s wrongdoing’s.
He deserved so much better and someone who loves him wholeheartedly.

By the end, you can’t deny that chayoung is a really fucking good lover, husband, and father. But my god…. Early chayoung’s vibe was OFFFFFFF OH MY GODDD I CAN’T STAND HIM
Rationally I know that chayoung isn’t much compared to most ml in kr bls. It wasn’t as if his way of thinking is so bad either, he communicated clearly what he wants, kept it consensual (I’m just saying this loosely here…), and it’s clear that chayoung doesn’t want kids with random partners and properly used protection (I’m also saying this loosely here….) to prevent that, so his stance on the “accidental” pregnancy, although extreme, makes sense regarding his circumstances (possible gold digger, baby trapped, etc).
But because I love the character gyuha more, seeing how he’s less calculating and more about candid feelings, watching as he fall in love with early snake chayoung was just so heartbreaking. Chayoung’s not responsible to return everybody’s feelings, rationally I knew that. But it still sucks.
Although he did bounce back pretty quickly and became a devoted husband, and it’s so hard to hate him by then, but the glimpses to early chayoung still often made me think yeah you better always be on your fucking toes, chayoung….
Other than that, gyuyeong and gyuchan are such a gift to the world.
Whatever the grand duke is planning, he better wrap it up fast before he lose everything. I don’t think he’s looking too good rn
