Because of their backgrounds and past, specifically, the prince’s father being the reason the MC’s sister was executed, they could never truly be together. Still, the moments you’ll see between them are genuine,good, consensual, and non-abusive, unlike those with the ML. Sehyuk (the prince) genuinely loved and cared for the MC, but by then, the MC had already developed Stockholm syndrome with the ML. He cared for the prince, but he couldn’t love him. And unfortunately, because of how the plot unfolds, even the prince ends up raping the MC once near the end of the novel, so don’t hold out much hope for them.
That’s so genuinely disheartening because that means they had the best chance (till that last part). Idk if I’ll continue reading knowing this but thank you for the spoilers!!
