my bad, not author notes but it has been heavily hinted that pregnancy will happen, and i just dont want them to use it as a device to solve all problems, since i want proper communication and character development

Abortion in the Repulblic of Korea is in a bit of a weird spot where it's decriminalized but not strictly legal, therefore it's kind of hard to access. That might be part of it, and the other part is The Drama.
i think according to BL logic it’s definitely drama… plus normally in BLs when the mc gets pregnant, they dont ever think “oh i’m scared to be judged by everyone if i get an abortion” they’re literally always just “i wanna keep the baby” like ok i guess
