I don’t know if I remember the book entirely but I don’t think the character decisions are that bad. I think it makes sense in relation to the setting that Rubiana chose her sister over the ML. It wasn’t the morally right thing to do but Rubi’s character has always been 1. An older sister and 2. A knight/ duchess.
Everything she has done in this manwha has been consistent, I get the argument of their being a lack of growth because of her saving her sister first but it makes sense. Her sister is the empress, she spent YEARS fighting for the stability of the empire as a means to avenge her parents and take care of her fiefdom.
Yes, she has the ML now, and I feel bad for the ML because truly it wouldn’t make sense for him to run away because based on the runnings of this story, they’re just gonna find him to constantly try to place him on that throne. But she has only known the ML for a couple months, there’s absolutely no way she’d fully choose him over her sister/empress, it wouldn’t have been romantic but just out of place narratively.
And it’s not like Ruby doesn’t take of the ML, and she doesn’t know about ML’s transmigrations, for all she knows this man was the son of the man who killed her family and ruined her life. And I totally ship them but I just don’t think this manwha is bad cause of Ruby not choosing to save Louis (even though I feel bad for him and this the sister is a brat)
