In that regard, I agree with you that being raped is horrible and I would have preferred that he suffered much more.
But I can swear to you that just seeing him apologize and understand that he did something wrong is really a good thing. I'm in the same situation, and I can tell you I've cried hundreds of times, thinking that this person doesn't even want to apologize or understand why it hurt me so much.
