1) Pickup the dad was such an imbecile decision.
2) Burning the money was beyond senseless.
3) I hated that rich nerd. I know he filled the holes in the story but comic reliefs... he has no substance to himself. He is just a plot device! No soul.
People make illogical descisions all the time especially when it comes to family. You clearly dont know anything about abuse if you think an abuse victim would never welcome their abuser. And if you actually want characters in a story to never make mistakes, the stories you enjoy must be pretty bland. "Hey lets watch this perfect character who always makes perfect choices and never fails beat the bad guy and get the girl!" Riveting.
And saying the rich guy had no soul just shows that you clearly skipped through the parts centered on him.
It is just my opinion, buddy. If you found the story spotless, be my guest.

Agree with first 2, but gotta defend my boy Gabin lmao. Given that this was a comedy focused story, I didn't really like how the trauma/deeper topics were portrayed. Hence why I didn’t really care for the father/son arc and red-head leaving.
But Gabin fits right in this rom-com of a mess and I love it.

Let's say you are having a very heated argument with your partner. Then, the "friendly" neighbor joins and starts cracking jokes in middle of your argument. Neither you and your partner are laughing because 1, the issue is still unsolved and 2, why the heck is the neighbor playing clown in the middle of this mess? It just feels like that to me: something very serious is kinda happening and they throw out the comic relief dude... The contrast can feel more aggressive for some.
