A lot of people might pass it off as having a 'rape fetish' and skip the NSFW scenes, but you're actually missing the most critical parts of the story. The sex scenes aren't just for show—they are crucial tools used to dissect the characters' mental states.An interesting observation I have is that readers either feel disgusted, pained, or lustful toward these scenes as if we were the characters in it. We essentially embody the abusers (lust), WY (pain), the citizens(disgust),, and maybe even Geom if we share his background. There are so many layers and metaphors that you really need to reread it to fully appreciate the depth.Since the subject matter is so heavy, I get why people avoid a reread, but that also means a lot of the brilliance gets overlooked.
