I finally read it from start to finish in several days, and oh God, it's one of my favorite stories ever. I found it back in 2022 and been obsessed with Eternal Covenant ever since. What can I say? It has some flaws, of course, but despite everything, it's still 1000/10 to me. Sol and Brian/Ian's love is so deep i was literally crying on most of the chapters LMAO may this love find me
I want to talk a bit about some aspects that I love/don't like.
First of all, to get it off of my chest, I HATE S3 drawing style. Of course, there are still some gorgeous frames, but the style became overly cute/childish, I love S1 style a lot more, for example, Ian could look both handsome and adorable without looking like a child, meanwhile in S3 everyone looks like they're from some shoujo anime with some weird proportions. Haejin, I love you, but please reconsider the style...
Now, about the flashbacks. I was one of the people who missed Ian like crazy, because I literally love him, my depressed traumatized baby, and I couldn't read S2 for a long time, but after finally getting through it, I can say that the flashback was very good and important to help us understand their love story in even more depth. Like, okay I do get now why Sol and Lorkan waited for 900 years, that boy deserved it but I also agree that it would be better if it was a bit shorter. Also, I wanted more information on Brian's background, like, was he an orphan, where did he get all that knowledge, because he was not just smart, he was actually educated... also, I understand that he wanted to protect Sol from getting dragged into human's filth, but he was fighting Sol becoming a king so much it kinda started pissing me off at one point lol
I love how the author handles Ian's feelings regarding his past life. I love my petty king, I would also remind everyone that guys I'M NOT BRIAN! Love me for who I am. But I also can't blame Sol like some of you, because at the end of the day, Ian is Brian, they are pretty similar, the only difference is the level of trauma. Ian is more depressed after being rejected and opressed by almost everyone, meanwhile Brian was always praised by a lot of people, even if he was alone, he still had his love for humanity.
I also love love love their love, I think i already mentioned it, I love Sol's growth, love really changed him, he became more patient and wise...BUT... i want more drama SORRY... yeah Lorkan deserves to die (like bro, i get it, Brian is special, but i swear he's not the only special person in the world, I'm sure you can find someone who will love YOU, Mr. "I want what my brother is having"), but i love his obsession with Brian/Ian, I think it's one of the rare times I'd love to see a love triangle. And don't come at me, Sol is handsome, but Lorkan is so beautiful, he does look like an angel, those face and hair are majestic.
I'm desperately waiting for S4, I hope Haejin won't make us wait 900 years like dragon brothers although S3 did not meet all of my expectations regarding some plot choices and the art style, I still genuinely love and adore this story, and want to see Ian and Sol happy.
