Try Lovely Complex. It gets a little complicated when the MC's realize their feelings, but is very light and comedic the rest of the time. One of the very few mangas that made me laugh out loud like Horimya! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

The scent disappeared not because kei was unfaithful. The scent was there but shingo could not smell it because of his insecurities. He thought kei was unfaithful and was scared of losing him so he locked his heart away in a sense and could not smell the scent. He smelt it back when he got a commitment of the ring and reassurance from kei and trusted him again.

If that's the case, then the mangaka is contradicting what she wrote in vol. 1, as well as what the brother said. In fact quite a few events of vol. 1 won't make sense. Not that it isn't possible, authors often lose track of what they have previously written, especially in a long running series like this.

I didn't really think it was form of love. But i see at form of yearns or even friendship, during the old time. He cares so much for Rikiichi because he's the only one who treated him with respect and help him when no one really wants to help. He was in love with Magane and jealously kicks in whenever Magane starts to choose Rikiichi over him because it's Magane's natural nature as his Kami. Everyone in the old house (Asari especially) yearns for Rikiichi and thought of him as something they missed so much. It's basically the same devotion between Asari and Waki towards Rikiichi. But Asari loves Shoui and Waki loves Magane. No one was talking about how Asari was in love with Rikiichi right ? Because it's all loyalty.

I thought it was loyalty and friendship but the writers note threw me off

I tought she only wrote that she vaguely let readers to choose wether Magane remembers his past like Asari or not. I don't see anything that implying things

Yeah and it isnt even actually yaoi. （￣へ￣）tho everyone wishes that the genre would jump to yaoi.
