All the characters were terrible, the ending sucked... they did the deed then the girl just left to run the race lol like ok
this feels like a fever dream like wtf just happened i wasted so much time reading this so im warning anyone else to NOT read this, seriously if anyone wants to then i guess the last chapter??? but it sucks
I could not believe that older sister got with that OLD MONKEY WTF is going on in this manga.. it doesnt make any sense. ALL the women here are treated terribly and all the guys keep dying.. idk this just felt like a waste of time. I dropped it bc there was no plot, nasty old men and no real romance.
I get how you feel about this manga, I really do. But the sister getting together with Hideyoshi and also all other those people dying, is just the mangaka sticking with the actual historical facts. Gotta appreciate how the mangaka was able to draw the story keeping all those facts in mind, must have taken a lot to research all that.
Given their circumstances, I wonder if she truly loved him when they were together. Infatuation, yes. Real love...maybe not. For her to have sex with him and have his sons, I couldn’t ’t help but think that he took advantage of her. Yes, she did agreed to be his concubine, but she didn’t have any other option. She didn’t have any say in the matter because she was a woman. Even if she kept rejecting him, he would have the final say. She even said that he could have made her his concubine anytime. Also, he was responsible for the death of her parents, and she was barely a teenager (I think) when he took her and her sisters in after their uncle died. He kept pursing her no mater how many times she rejected him. For goodness sakes, it was very clear that he wanted her because of her beauty and her resemblance to her mother. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
It also seemed that they started to grow apart (not too noticeable) as time went on.
This manga is based on historical events so... don’t go complaining. This is how real life was back than, if you boy, you go to war, if you women men control your life.... truly sad!
I dropped reading this like 3 times but today I was determined to finish it. MY MISTAKE. The story dragged on way too long. Could have easily been wrapped up in 30 chapters MAX. I recommend just reading the first few chapters then skipping to 85 to save you the trouble. Its like CONSTANT miscommunication that frustrated me. The ending was good I am glad the other side characters did not make an appearance again. They were all horrible.
All of the characters were insufferable. Especially the sisters, they were annoying even until the last chapter. The family was also all annoying. The grand daughter was jealous of her own grand mother, never helped out and just caused trouble. The son was also annoying too. Every single family member was useless and selfish and only cared for the inheritance. So I am glad they are gone in the end, hopefully the kids are raised differently.
The FL was also way too stubborn. She could have let go of her pride a bit to just make the chemistry more believable, but these two leads didnt have any. Truly they did not have any chemistry whatsoever. It just felt forced and obligatory.. she had more chemistry with her childhood friend.
The last chapter I guess saved the story but overall this whole series it felt like a waste of time.The FL didnt get retribution for being mistreated at all. So ima say a waste of time to go through each chapter.. just skip through until the end.
Also to ppl saying its a slow burn.... yea a slow TORTURE OF NO PLOT DEVELOPMENT OR CHARACTER REDEMPTION. seriously the whole family all sucked I had to say this three times lol

I got to say.. overall its a good read and realistic story. I think ppl didn't like it bc of forced twist of amnesia but from the very beginning Minyul has been possessive.
Even in the beginning chapters he would get like 57 missed calls from Minyul.. I am not sure if anyone has dealed with this before. But personally, its suffocating and draining to be with anyone who expects you to answer their calls ALL THE TIME. I have a friend that calls me EVERY DAY.. trust its not as romantic as manga makes it seem. For awhile I had actual anxiety looking at my phone bc I was so tired of my friend calling every day.
So there was clear signs of a toxic relationship in the beginning, but bc Minyul is handsome and has trauma it seems to offset the readers expectations. However, it really is not that rosy in real life. Minyul also knowingly allows Jungsoo to be in a dangerous pyramid scheme to 1)Spend time with him 2) cripple him financially. I hope other readers see this too.
Jungsoo is not the most likeable character, hes indecisive and doesn't have any "strong" qualities that many leads have, but he is realistic. The pressure from getting into college is really daunting, its easy to fall for these schemes and have low self esteem. Just going job hunting is super stressful.
To conclude, I really liked this story. The drawings were great, plot was exciting and I felt the suspense from all the characters.

I know the feeling. Literal anxiety looking at the phone lol I still respect him as a friend with his accomplishments, but his lack of respect for my boundaries is putting me off.
The drawings are really cute to look at, but that seems to be the only redeeming quality of this manga. I binge read all 90 chapters and left with actual heartburn bc I was so mad. Like actual physical heart burn bc it just doesn't get better.
The first few chapters already tells you how this whole story is going to go.. AND it already starts off with the ML messing with another girl.
ML is terrible, no character growth and is selfish. Practically useless and really the cause of all the FL pain.
FL is a pushover and could easily do so much better. The only attribute she has is "kindness", and nothing else. She does not stick up for herself and forgives the ML so easily.
The only thing binding these two seems to be just grief and there is no chemistry between them whatsoever. I wish there was a Second Lead that ACTUALLY took her away. Ruka got away with so much and the ML just let it happen.
Overall, the drawings are very nice but the plot is thin... even infuriating at times. I would not recommend this to anyone.. unless they want heartburn.
And to those saying that the ML has changed... even in the end the FL is STILL taking care of him.. got a part time job to support him.. I REALLY CANT WITH THIS!!!!
This chapter was so wholesome and cute that I actually teared up reading this. No joke. The care and healthy relationships that they have for one another makes me so emotional. Great illustrations and character development. Can't wait for future chapters :')
