i feel like people say they love how jorga was corrupted and i just don't agree....
like i get that's what the author was going for but it really never reads right.
The manga left it out bc its a bit of a side comment anyway, but in the novel Anerheim mentions feeling anxious about Jorga running into Venelope's mom bc in the game one of the routes involves Jorga forsaking everyone bc he falls in love with her.
Jorga is corrupted because he is at every level corruptible, I'd go as far as to say the only reason Anderheim picks Jorga is because he knows Jorga can, will and canonically has thought with his dick alone, disregarding any loyalty or ethos.
Even outside of that novel fun fact there is no real moment of Jorga having internal conflict about choosing Anderheim over everything, he just does. It gets to the point ive felt like the only reson Jorga ever hated Anderheim was because Anderheim stole his girlfriend. Hell, "finding out" Anderheim's marriage wasn't him stealing his gf for no reason was the one moment Jorga genuinely stopped hating him. At thid point what really drives Jorga's morals and loyalty isn't even a question, it's his dick alone.
So truly, possibly one of the more unremarkable corruptions written, im sorry
i feel like the real thing that drives home how little Jorga really cared about any ethics or loyalty was what he did to Nasha in the end. He gave her a horrible fate without being asked, with no remorse or second thought simply bc the guy he was fucking would like it.
Maybe in a different story or in a world where it's not part of his canon that he'd do similar shit for anyone he was with, maybe it'd be endearing in a twisted way, but I genuinely cannot stand Jorga.
And dont get me wrong, I was so fucking with the old man yaoi at first, I think it was js really soured by how much i came to fucking dispise Jorga, and that Anderheim's obsession with him felt out of character for a guy busy playing the whole government like a fiddle. Maybe the manga softerns the blow of it but holy fuck that man will not shut up
tbh i dont wanna talk abt that part bc getting too pressed about it starts to come off weird. At the end of the day Anderheim forced Yurikano into the marriage by making a deal with her father, knowing fully well that she was going to marry jorga.
It's a bit too much for me to delve into the sanctity of a marriage a woman is sold into. Especially since it would also imply Yurikano was in the wrong for cheating on the man that basically paid for her in cash
im like a ch or 2 beihind rn but im getting so fucking tired everyone keeps blaming the prince. Like oh my fucking god it just keeps going and going and with every new character like holy shit.
Like are we all playing dumb or does NO ONE here realise ts is literally not his fault. Doram I get cause his resentment comes from childhood, but the rest of them??? burn them on a stick, I'm tired
literally don't fkn ask me, omi too like im sorry what exactly would change if doram didn't meet the prince? The only thing that ever changed anything was Doram letting go of a lot of his resentment after meeting the prince a second time, which is good isnt it?? what r we even talking about
maybe doun js hates the royals generally and feels indignant that now they're taking his brother away from him... but also i don't care, piss off
both the goblin and the brother hate the prince bcs they believe everything happened bcs doram met the prince
the king sent the prince to sinpyeong > doram met the prince > prince gained eyesight > the king got scared > doram's family was a noble in sinpyeong so the king accused them as traitors > doram family believed greatly in the sable tiger so they kept praying to sable tiger but he didnt help > doram tried to find the prince but the king sent the prince to war > their family suffered
so it's not the prince's fault, but technically doram's family downfall is bcs he the crown prince. if he didnt meet him = the prince stay blind = the king doesn't get scared = no accusation of traitors. why doram became so angry bcs he prayed so hard for the sable tiger but he didn't help
It’s not jumping through hoops it’s what we called plot and human feelings ! We’re not robot, our feelings express differently. And that’s technically true, if Doram didn’t meet the prince his family wouldn’t finished like this but because yall can’t stand the ML suffer for 2 minutes yall always have to complain about something lmaoo
wtf r u getting like so personal about it for?
Again, I understand Doram because its a strong emotion from his childhood of feeling like he was abandoned by god Mary Shelley style. However, the blame omi and doun are putting on the prince is fundamentally different and comes from an angle where I genuinely just think we might as well blame the whole country for it. I do not think the prince meeting doram did anything but maybe speed up the events by a few years, so I don't think the approach you said makes sense.
The plot is allowed to be about human emotions and the prince is allowed to struggle, this is already at the core of the problem between him and doram. However I think using side characters with barely palatable reasonings to manufacture a heightened sense of guilt fucks up the whole emotional journey we expect doram to have, wherein he has to contend with his own feelings for the prince, his concept of the divine and the tragedy of circumstance.
If the prince is at fault why should we hope doram accepts him, and if he isnt then.... i mean then im right, there's no reason to have like every new character hate him. You could have an argument that they're flawed beings pulling at straws and punching up, but i just don't think this is the right time to explore that.
What I understand even less is to what end my opinion on this must mean i understand or care abt the plot less than you, that I'm babying the prince or that i must always complain abt something. Its a comment section, if youre so upset scroll past, you have no right to get on a high horse about this

why is this genuinely turning into infinite flow, im crying
