i just really like the portrayal of the MC, when you're poor and have to make ends meet, you can't have pride and have to throw your ego out the window, you've become closed off from the world and when you're a prideful person, letting people see you at your lowest really can do the worst to you
just wanna say that 'cause i've been there and at that time it's hard to maintain friendship let alone a romantic one? sucks frfr
