It's a long shot BUT agggeeesss ago I read a yaoi manga and cannot remember what it was called!
The gist was a young man was forcibly sent to the countryside to work, met an older man and in true yaoi fashion they hated each other, then slowly became friends, then fell in love, then had a misunderstanding, and then OBVIOUSLY got together and lived happily ever after!
