Oh man, I didn't expect to tear up considering it was so short, but I feel for the dad and the daughter.

Years of resentment, regret, and strain were restored, and the Dad had the heart to finally let his daughter go, while the daughter got the approval and freedom she wanted.

I also thought the names were a good nod to what this tiny segment would be about. To be frank, I don't like the original story of Romeo and Juliet. I kind of thought their story was dumb because they only knew each other for four days and were already ready to die for each other. There was no reasoning with their families, just death. Depicting their love as the greatest love story of all times when their love was shallow really annoyed me.

    I mean
Shakespeare also thought it was kinda of a boring story. That's why he says in the beginning that they die at the end. He thought that would make people watch the play until conclusion and probably why he made them die, because it was a boring story and the death made it interesting. He was right, because people have been having discussions of that ending for centuries now

Loved the revenge, but I don’t like the that the Duke is purposefully not communicating to his wife. Idk what happened, but if he remembers and did research on her and what happened, then he should understand why she can’t remember. It’s selfish and unloving to force her to remember on her own or make her remember when it is related to a ginormous trauma.

But i mean she never said anything to her husband either, just go forward to her revege and investigating on her own meanwhile the husband, knowing these only support her from the background. Its not selfish to let her proccess her own grieve and revenge on her pace rather than forcing the information on her.

Yeah I agree with their, I think it's fair that he let her process whatever she needed to process on her own and gave her space. He knew that she had things he didn't fully understand and didn't want to pile his trauma on top of it (because of he told her about the past he would've also had to tell her about his own family being murdered).

i think if he had told her that would have overwhelmed her and it harder for her to process things it is her families death after all

If he is letting her process at her own pace, then that is good, but the problem is that he is implying that it is her fault for forgetting him and that she needs to remember on her own to make it right with him.

Agreed, it would be bad if he told her. Still, the fact he didn't realize that maybe she forgot him because of the trauma (he knows about) is a little silly, and the fact he blames her for forgetting him and forcing her to take responsibility by figuring out on her own and thereby remember trauma her body made her forget doesn't sound good either.
