i read the novel and initially thought that haewon was just really, really childish and impulsive, sort of like bratty characters who dont think before they do which is a trait i like most of the time. the novel to this is one of my favorites, so it’s a bit disappointing to see a little bit of deterioration with the art style and plot progression. though it is a bit difficult to adapt to manhwa since it’s a first pov novel, the plot points for s2 are moving WAYYYY too quickly.
if anyone’s interested, the first two chapters of s2 lack a lot of seonwoo (mc’s) inner monologue. there’s a lot of anxiety between the two of them since their relationship is realllyyyyy complex, especially in narrative form
i hope the anatomy improves a bit! it’s a bit grating to see the style differences rn between s1 and s2
also… highly recommend reading the novel if you want super complicated toxic relationships and character studies. novel is a bit on the longer side but a rlly rlly good read

as a bonafide lover of toxic yaoi and manhwa this is done very tastefully. i love how you know this is a trainwreck waiting to happen, how both of them are deranged (one more than the other) and how great the characterization is. most people who dont like the characters are more often than not projecting their OWN morals onto the MC which does not play out well as a reader. his character is very much so consistent— you just need to pay attention to how much of an unreliable narrator he is in contrast to how his actions reflect his thoughts.
this story is not supposed to be romantic; that’s the point, if you paid more fucking attention lol

I don't think the MC in any way is equal to what the ML is turning out to be
yeah! i did talk about how the ML is much more insane than the MC. MC likes to think he’s got a good head on his shoulders but is often a slave to his emotions while simultaneously not caring about anyone elses, and is extremely easily persuaded by worldly pleasures; while ML is sociopathic, psychotic, and just gets off on dominating—having something new and interesting to play around with. i didn’t really say that they’re both same level batshit crazy, it’s just that they’re both mentally disturbed to varying degrees
