Eudith or Judith is related to the previous King. So she's a royal. The previous king have a sister whom he loves so dearly to the point that it suffocating her. Her sister (Judith's Grandmother) fell inlove with a commoner. The previous king opposed their relationship due to the differences of their status, so her sister ran away and married that commoner (Another Spoiler: She fell inlove because of his looks). So yeah, Judith came from a royal lineage, and Sophie (Duchess Winterwald) probably knew that she's from a royal lineage because of her eyes.
