I don’t think hwa-ik was wrong for breaking up her. She isnt ready to be in a relationship and he got tired of chasing someone who wasn’t going to be with him 100%. The sex was just the physical manifestation of the status of their relationship. I really hope this doesn’t end the way that people have been saying it does, but I can 100% see the author doing a time skip where she bumps into the old ass and they get together again; which will feel like a giant waste of time for me but ig I was warned.
