Now hear me out,
I know fans are giving this series too much thoughts that it doesn't deserve. But I'm one of those fans and in my defence, I would like to point it out that this series is walking on the lines between being serious about dv and being a dv porn.
Like for example, in the last chapter the uti guy seems to be aware that what he is doing is not right and seems to be concerned that why someone would put up with it. If that was the only chapter I read, I would have thought this is a psychological and the uke definitely has ulterior motives.
But after reading the authors note, I got even more disappointed in this series. Like they seem sweet but not very self aware of their story. Like maybe they wanted to make dv porn, but they don't have the nuance understanding of dv or violent kinks to not accidentally glorify dv.
Now hear me out, I've read a certain series who's name I can't remember. That series also started with a very problematic relationship. But the writer knew what they were doing, they took their sweet time to make it problematic and then make give it a redemption. And then the were in a healthy relationship.
Although that couple were not abusive, they were just bad people. But I feel like this series so bluntly showing dv, there's no way the writer is just doing it for shock value.they probably have something in mind, to fix this.
Although I might be giving them too much credit, because I don't know how you fix a dv relationship ethically.
