I see a lot people complaining that the rape from the brother was completely unnecessary, or that the brother and dad should have somehow gotten their just desserts in some way but...if I'm being honest, that's not the way it happens in real life most of the time.
These abuses do happen to real people, like sure it may have been unpleasant for you to read but it wasn't unrealistic. Most of the time people just have to/want to move on with their lives rather than spend that time screwing them over. Main character did what he wanted for his own peace of mind.
I'm sure some might yell 'But this is a story, it doesn't have to be realistic!' And...okay? Go read one of those as this is the story the author wanted to tell. As someone who has lived a life very similar to our main character, I'm okay with how it went. Not everything had a satisfying end or got wrapped with a bow, but our main character (along with others) is moving on and healing, and I think that was the point.

I didn't say it was? I was saying that similar situations happen in real life and the way things resolved is okay. Not everything has to be a revenge story. That was my point.
I know they were working on restoring our lists and it's been quite some time since they started that. For the most part it looks like our read lists have been restored but do we know when our want to read lists will be restored? It's kinda rough having it all missing.

For any that really liked this and want some thing similar, you should read the novel The Disabled Tyrant’s Pet Palm Fish. It is a similar story with some of the same themes and plot points, though it is a separate story.
