I’m glad they’re finally communicating properly and as much as I enjoy seeing their relationship progress….where is it going? Yes, he was obsessed with finding her and keeping her by his side and he clearly has genuine feelings for her, but for some reason I don’t see him marrying her or doing something to raise her status, which is the only way they could be together long-term in a proper relationship. ML and the rest of the household still very much subscribe to maintaining a class divide, and so far I haven’t seen anything from him that would suggest that he plans to do anything other than keep her by his side as a maid.
I finished the novel and I dare say, the novel goes more in depth about this topic and you'll see this discussed later on in this story. The gap felt in social classes is real in this story, and can't be solved, as easy as it sounds, by just giving Paula a title. In fact, Paula is conformed to being a hardworking commoner maid. This is her way of living, earned through her own efforts, and Vincent respects that.

I feel like it makes it more powerful if he gives her the choice, and she chooses to be as she always has. Yet despite being a mere "maid", will be untouchable by other peoples judgements. In my opinion the freedom of choice is what matters, and dismantling their power gap a good amount during their relationship. I didnt really put my thoughts down as good as i thought i would so i hope my point comes across alright

The point of other nobles seeing a maid being treated as one of them despite her status not being raised is such a fuck u move to them

While also power like that is unstable if its only depended on one person in the couple being powerful. But this is a fictional love story so we dont need to worry about it being as real historical relationships like that couldve been.

Yes, you have a point, butI highly recommend reading the novel. It is beautifully written and handles this topic in a satisfying way. I can't give details since I don't want to spoil, but honestly, the way they resolved the matter was a bit unique in a way.
But Paula's opinions and choice on whether to stay the way she is or becoming a lady of higher status has always been respected by others. That's just how much she is respected and loved in her group. I can't say for a fact that in this story commoners are treated equally, since they aren't. Everyone is biased towards Paula because of her influence on people, but realistically, there are obstacles Paula and Vincent must face even if there is bias or a status gap between them... I REALLY WANT TO TALK MORE BUT I CAN'T SPOIL HDJSNAJAAA

I dont mind a spoiler on this topic but im not sure if og commenter is okay with that
I get Tei was talking about being tempted to sleep with other people mainly as a tactic to get Blondie to finally bed him, but I fear he might have just signed more than a few peoples death warrants with that move. Potential blood baths aside, I’m STOKED for the next chapter.
