I've been telling myself that the art style is different because he's in a different dimension so, even though everything the characters are the same, everything in that dimension has a different feel to it. I really hope that if he (Elliot) were to got back to the S1 dimension, the art style would also change to it's original form. I think it'd be an interesting concept. (Is this actually what the author intended? Probably not. But I don't like this new art style as much, so I'm forcing myself to believe this )
