i met this friend online and we've been friends for years; way back before covid. I fell in love with them. i knew they would reject me but i still confessed. we kept in touch after but after i got busy we barely talk. i could not get over something whenever i see their name it pains me emotionally and mentally. i blockd them out in every socmed we had connected which convinces me on getting that "peace of mind"is it ok to be this selfish idk we havent even met in person
Hey we have the same situation but we're still good today. We met in 2021 around pandemic too n he has a crush on me its so obv but i dont really care, i just care abt us, our friendship. This year he confessed to me n we're still friends. I barely open my acc. I abandoned it for almost a year. I open it like once in every 3/4 months but we're still good, the bond is still there, the closeness. I think ur just guilty n a bit awkward towards them. Ur guilty bcus u think u abandoned them (i feel super guilty abandoning them) but its life yk, we have busy times n all, we have a life outside the social media so its just normal. But i think u need to talk abt them is abt blocking them....that person will ask them selfs if they did anything wrong. Ur cutting off ties without explaining them y did u block them. I think u should need to tell them y did u block them. While having ur peace of mind, they r having their not so peace of mind (i hope u understand what im saying) they think n think until they overthink y did u block them. So give them a peace of mind too so that the two of u will have both peace of mind n solve the misunderstanding. Do u guys both knows what ur Real Acc?

Honestly its going to hurt until you are fuly over them. I had a breakup recently and my heart hurt everytime their name appeared or something reminded me of them. The best way to heal so u can actually be friends is like fully no contact. Get rid of everything that remidns you of them and eventually you will notice you no longer feel that pain. It will take time tho! good luck (●'◡'●)ﾉ
