Well to be honest I did not cry but I still think this is a very very sad and dramatic way for this manga and their reliationship to end. Scold me if you think I' m heartless for not crying but I think I just read too many drama yaois to cry my eyes out for this one or any other manga, tbh I almost never cry. Heart of stone! ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
so lucky I get really depressed well I already have depression so the ending for this was a bit too much for me. I wish I knew it was tragedy.
I have a question about kato and iwaki. Are they gay or "just" for wach other? You know what I mean? I've been stuck on that for a while now. Tanks
I think Katou and Iwaki aren't gay. They just love each other and their partner just happen to be the same sex.
they are both gay.
It's a bit ambiguous. In Chap. 21 when Iwaki is giving his press conference, he indicates that he is not gay--that Katou is special. However, in Chap. 35 Iwaki admits to Shimizu that he was interested in reading Winter Cicadas because of the gay love story (which he relates to). In Chap. 65 when Katou is reflecting on his past, when he was first approached by scouts when he was in university (?) he was with a woman (presumably dating) and also at one point very early in their relationship, cheated on Iwaki with a-or several-women (see Chap. 41). I would probably consider them either straight but gay only for each other or bi-sexual (which makes more sense).
couldn't have explained it any better! props!
I kind of agree with Anne, except that I interpreted Iwaki's interest in Winter Cicadas's homosexual love line as originating in light of his same-sex relationship with Katou, not some sort of general homosexual tendency. From my reading, I think the author makes it fairly clear that both are considered heterosexual but only "gay for each other". However, I think that bisexuality would be much more realistic, regardless of whether it is indicated by the story itself.
I dont think becomming gay for only one person exist. If you are attractet to the same sex, no matter the reaons, love, looks etc. then you are gay.
they are probably demisexual. google it. does everyone on here think u can only be straight, gay, or bi??? jesus educate urselves
This is definitely not a hate comment, but...
I feel that you have wrongly accused people of being uneducated. However, honestly speaking, I did google ur word, and it definitely sums up Kato and Iwaki's sexuality :). So thnx for tht!
As regards Annonymous' suggestion that either of them is demisexual, I think that's wrong. Both of them worked making porn films--having sex with total strangers. Also, when Katou first met his friends (can't think how to spell their names right now) it was at a party where he had sex with women who just happened to be attending. A demisexual person can ONLY have sex with someone they are deeply emotionally attached to. Just because Iwaki and Katou fall in love with each other does not make them demisexual.
From the earlier chapters I think Katou is pan or just the type who don't care about label (several times implied/said that love has nothing to do with gender). While Iwaki is either repressed gay (if the scanlation is correct, at first he implied being gay is shameful) or bisexual (said he fall in love with women in the past).
they aren't gay. in chapter 12, Iwaki even said that he's not interested in any other man except Kato. Kato's the same. they are only gay for each other.

At Anne: just because Iwaki read the Winter Cicade that's about gay romance, that doesn't mean he's gay. he just really liked the book because of the storyline, and how the gay romance was portrayed.
being gay, means your attracted to only guys period but Iwaki and Kato are only interested in each other. if they weren't interested in each other, they be with women since they were originally straight to begin with.
Is yoshida san (flower shop) a guy or a woman?
Well they didn't get their own side story, and since this yaoi, I'm leaning towards woman.
Thank you (⌒▽⌒)
