I can understand about why everyone is upset about the ending but you have to think about the authors health... If you didn't read her note from earlier in the chapters she has a fucking neck problem to where here neck is shaped as a c. She also noted that she will have this issue for the rest of her life... Even if she had a surgical procedure that only helps so much. I can't imagine how much pain she's in. It must be fucking hard for her to draw in her condition. At least she gave us an ending.
