It's been a long time, thousands of manga, since I felt a story had such a base in reality that it was affecting my mood and occasionally influencing me in general. It was scary real, sweet and painful, hard to avoid but so blunt and heavy. I felt that if it continued it would most certainly end as a tragedy, I was genuinely concerned for fictional characters but I kept reading. I noticed by about chapter 50 that I was pretty invested in Simon and Connor and only recalled the better moments in their realationship, the safety and love that the author did a great job of conveying, struggling to rose tint the crushing helplessness and isolation that pushes most people to the brink. No doubt that this story is burned into my memory, and the message weighs heavy in my mind. So many words of revolution that mirror my own: it's morally, regiously, and legally none of my business what you do in your bed with the one you love, and the like wise is true. This is 2017, I should have a mf hover car and infinite energy, but we are still fighting for equality of every type, and injustice for basic human rights, proving civility is potentially a millennia-old myth.
