A lot of Western books with this vibe are marketed as "cozy fantasy", but some Indie authors are insured by anime and mark them as "slice of life fantasy". You can find them pretty easily on US Amazon and other online bookstores, but they're pretty rare in libraries and brick and mortar bookstores.
