The extra gave me some confusing vibes. No bad ones. It's "just" a shounen-ai but I always rack my brain who will be on top ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄ I always thought it would be sasaki but the extra had a different vibe for me. As I think about it I remember there were maybe more such hints in the story so for. What are your thoughts?
Honestly could go either way. Sasaki would definitely take the position Miyano would want him to, and for now, it's been hinted that Miyano is pretty uncomfortable as a bottom. But, we could also get power bot Miyano, since he's been growing by leaps and bounds ahah. So honestly, for me it's still uncertain and I wouldn't mind not knowing I think, since this is so well written and their relationship feels so right
I've always read it as Miyano not having a shown particular preference, but not wanting to be characterized as an "uke" or "bottom" just because he's of smaller stature, especially to the person he loves, regardless of the position he'd prefer. I also read the "I lied." chapter as Sasaki being willing to take either position but preferring to top. I can definitely see your point of view though, and like you said, it doesn't really matter because it's such a sweet and well written story
I also agree with both of you that it actually doesn't matter because the story is just really good. Can't wait to get the 10th volume in my hands.
I mean not to be that guy but realistically mlm relationships do either, just some have preferences, at least from what I’ve heard from my gay dude friends. I like the ambiguity of sasamiya on this because it’s nice to see something that isn’t characterizing characters based on their position in bed. I mention this bc sasamiya plays at so many tired BL troupes so I hope they play at this one more in the future. I know they have a bit, with the whole thing abt how Miyano looks like a stereotypical ‘uke’ but inside he’s manly and doesnt like being judged as cute or diminutive bc of his short stature. And Sasaki is the opposite. Screams stereotypical ‘seme’ but is the more feminine person of the two in terms of interests and personality.
