1. Yuuki is the big bad of this story.
2. God Ruminas is actually a vampire Demon Lord. She founded the Western Empire and Church. She is obsessed with Chloe, the hero who sealed Veldora, and keeps her body in a glass casket, Snow White style.
3. Thanks to time travel (don't ask, I don't get it either) the hero Chloe of the past and the little Chloe Rimuru saved (the one who had a crush on him) are the same person.
4. The Demon Lord who almost killed Kazaream, Leon Crownwell is actually the one Rimuru is looking for. He is the one who summoned Shizu and forced her to take the fire spirit. I think he was trying to somehow bring Chloe back somehow...? I don't remember.
5. The next arc will be a Demon Lord conference, where Rimuru will meet the others and introduce himself and his kingdom as a new great power. Followed by a war with the Western Empire.
6. I believe angels are gonna show up latter for a second war...? Sorry, it's been over 2 years since I've read the novel.
7. Oh! And there is a tournament coming too! And Ramiris is moving to Tempest.

Are you basing this off from the WN? The manga is following the LN now. After Walpurgis and the festival, there's another arc that will be inserted so empire and angels' arc won't be happening anytime soon. If you haven't read the LN then you'll be in for some surprises.
