:Rebirth
The premise could have been good if any of the actions of the characters had been justified. Mc is an AH. Honestly he's the worst parent, I feel bad even calling him that. Honestly the way he neglected his son for no reason whatsoever is such a red flag at first I thought they'd at least try to justify it to make mc seem even remotely human but no hes just shit and emotionally abused his son for no reason, not like it would ever be justifiable but goddamn.... there is no way to redeem a parent who abuses a child.
Lost in the Cloud
This is probably one of the best manga out there about trauma. The feelings these characters have, feel so real it makes my body hurt sometimes. I can't continue reading this cause goddamn it messes me up a little but it's just so real and well done. Cirrus household is so well characterized, at first his actions seem over the top but the way his past is laid out really makes it make sense. It is so organically written, the author sure as fuck has a lot of emotional intelligence.
The Mage With Special Circumstances Wants to Live Peacefully
It wasn't a 100% my thing and I found it exhausting to read cause there are already enough dismissively sexist manga out there without em having it as their centre piece, but despite my original aversion, the manga actually followed through with making it clear sexism is a thing in this universe and made it very clear it was not supposed to be viewed in a good light like in so many other manga. I liked the explanations well enough although the ending wasn't entirely satisfactory.
Chemy
Bruh this is so lame. I kinda expected the dude to become "smart" but that dude is lowkey dumb af and doesn't even understand any of the stuff he's saying which just makes his power really boring imo. Imagine having the power to say shit you, yourself are unable to fully understand, if that existed id already have that cause half the time im too dumb to understand myself. Also this is so pseudo deep and sciency. It's just a bunch of stuff they heard in highschool jumbled together which doesn't really sell the "all the knowledge there is" point. Sure they did a good job of building on it and putting it together to at least kinda make sense but it's still pretty basic chem most of the time and just makes me feel like I'm sitting in a chem class with a bunch of horny highschoolers.
Sayonara Oruta
I feel like some people are really missing the point here, it's not that "hari" lived and "ruri" died, both girls went by both names. It didn't matter because they used the names interchangeably. The names were merely an appearance they kept outwardly. But yes the one who got confessed to did die.
Yakusoku Siren
Okay I don't understand how people can love this story so much. Im a suckered for hurt comfort but this really isn't giving that. This was not even a happy ending, just a frustrating cut. There was no resolve of anything happening to them in their childhood, there was only a blame oriented two dimensional plotline for y the younger brother had to be alone and he was never absolved of that even though realistically speaking he was not at fault nor was it his responsibility to know his own feelings yet the story puts it as if everything is fine with just the two brothers reuniting. This story is essentially agreeing with the parents reasoning for Abandoning their son by neither solving the drama nor actually framing it in the uncomfortable light it should have been if it were not agreed with.
Infinite Mage
The story had a very strong start and separated itself well from the rest of its genre so it was fun to read but as soon as the author introduced the red head it was very clear that there was a lot of bothersome favouritism towards her without any solid foundation so almost all scenes including her feel not only forced but go completely against the general moral usually conveyed. I did read until the most recent chapter and can say that even though the red head does get some development and does reflect on her actions to some degree, its nowhere near enough to actually feel like her place in the novel is in any way warranted or necessary. It just feels like the author immediately switched out the mcs character traits with dumb oblivious stereotypes the moment he meets her in the academy and acts so unlike himself its obnoxious. And she is such an awful person that its insane the author basically uses apologetics for her and relativises what she has done to "she wanted to see him naked, thats not that bad" when she actually traumatised this child in the same way those youtubers go "its just a prank bro, I didnt wanna sell you as a slave and I only let them beat u to a pulp to make it more believable, trust me bro". This is ridiculous and in bad taste considering the mc actually defended himself against other people before and the author has established that there is supposed to be a moral compass just to throw it all out because they like the idea of some obnoxious, generic tsundere without personality and completely disregard that none of the red heads actions are endearing, reasonable nor permissable just because she is the main lead. If the author had wanted her to he the main lead he should have established character growth and not have her or the mc think the only had thing she did was have some thugs try to strip the mc.
The Wrong Way to use Healing Magic
The story is dope even though it uses a lot of the same tropes and themes. The characters feel more unique than in the average isekai, which is definitely a plus point for this one. Nonetheless I do feel icky about the way some of the problems are dealt with. Without trying to spoiler anything: there is a situation in which a very common theme happens which is entirely unhealthy and gives an example of how not to treat a situation. A person who wronged someone else doesn't take accountability or responsibility for their actions anf neither is it demanded by the other characters which i view as extremely problematic. This shows how Japanese manga often treat these problems. Just because a person forgives another, doesn't mean they are free of responsibility for what they have done nor does a background story rectify their actions. To be clear: I'm not complaining about a person, wronging another, I am complaining about the way this situation is resolved without ever showing that a person has to take accountability making it seem like their actions were insignificant.
Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko
This is gold and deserves a fucking gold star. If virgin-chad was a title, mc would be the first character to be called that. The way he interacts with the world is hilarious and actually pretty damn cool. He feels like a confident supportive dude who just kinda wants to get laid but can't seem to find anyone. I'm honestly rooting for him to find a girlfriend just cause it would make everything even funnier when he gets hit on by dudes. And he really deserves a girl tbh. The comedy is great, the art style is great and the mc feels like an actual person to me albeit an exaggerated version. 10/10 would read again
