I was wondering does anybody know a story with transgender character in it? and I'm not talking about a trope where character's genitalia suddenly changed or a trope where women with penises and vice versa are just like that accepted and form a whole new social group (like omegaverse for example) but a full fletched trans character with an arc maybe not fully about being trans but realistically connected to that

It's the first story in an anthology. It depicts a trans man in rural Japan who helps stream his dad's hunts. I found the setting (and its clever metaphor) and the MC's relationship with his father to be very memorable.

Ryuji/Yuka, one of the side characters, is first presented as a crossdresser, but her story heavily suggests that she is trans or genderqueer. There are some truly touching scenes further in the story regarding her struggles with her identity, self-perception, love, family, relationships, and mental health. Blue Period itself is about the world of art and I heavily recommend it in general.

It's a short BL about a boy who falls for a trans guy. I think it's based off a VOCALOID song? The major theme is to reject social norms.
- ‘after school mate’ the main character is trans, it’s completed, short but absolutely beautiful and realistic!!
- ‘boys run the riot’ haven’t read it but i’ve heard great things about it!
- ‘hanayome wa motodanshi’ autobiographic story about the author’s personal trans experience (with cute art style)
- ‘lovely complex’ just a minor side character, but a classmate/friend of the main characters is an openly trans girl
- ‘hourou musuko’ i watched the anime ages ago and liked it but never read the manga (it’s very long), i’ve seen people like the manga and others heavily criticize it saying it’s horrible trans representation.. so just a fair warning
