Does anyone know if there are going to be side stories or an epilogue? Cause that ending feels super abrubt and I feel like there are a lot of unanswered questions.

I feel like I'm losing my mind. The sisters argument is basically "we always loved you, you never opened up to us, other people's opinions don't matter, they would have found something else to mock the family for, we were sad that you were sad".

Like... 1. No you didn't. You and your brother literally pushed her down the stairs. You did NOT always love her. 2. Uh, yeah??? You pushed her down the stairs??? 3. You don't get to decide that! You live in high *SOCIETY*. The "society" part is pretty important! It absolutely matters what other people think! 4. There is an astronomical difference between mocking a family and a person due to that person merely existing and mocking a family for petty rumors and grievances around the entire family. 5. SHE WAS SAD BECAUSE OF ALL THE AFOREMENTIONED REASONS! If you care about a person but not enough to do something about what's making her sad (society thinking she doesn't deserve to live??) then you don't actually care about her. Her attitude should be "oh my God we had no idea it was this bad, we failed you, please forgive us" not "maybe just stop caring? Stop being sad, it makes us sad."

And in this time period, a woman's primary goals would be to make connections with other houses through social events and to marry into a prosperous family. MC literally mentions this earlier in the story, her plans are to become a nun not because she wants to but because no one would want to marry the worthless illegitimate child. Dumb and cruel? Yeah, but that's how high society worked. The sister doesn't get to just say "ignore the others" when the "others" are kind of important!

EXACTLY!! The resolution was too swift. Like, marshall has been having these feelings build up over her whole life and all it takes is for her sister to say “we’ve always loved you even though we didn’t show it!” For her to accept and forgive?? Nah, I’m not buying it. How could Marshall forget how they never took up for her? How, as you mentioned, they literally PUSHED HER DOWN THE STAIRS!!
