In the novel, she actually kneels and begs him to believe her, but he wouldn't, writes a check, calls her a whore and basically tells her to gtfo. She's devastated but does so. This novel is just horrible, made my blood boil on countless occasions, especially when he would constantly say he forgave her, reminding her of the past - which he promises to let go, multiple times. Also, overall she's a pushover and let's him string her along which is just stupid. I think I liked the previous one in the series better. Bryony is so strong compared to this stupid doormat.
Makoto is a good guy. I hope Kumi will end up with him & not Taichi
